They may be things that happened to you…No...there will be things that happen to you that make you feel like life can’t go on
Things that the Enemy will try to twist and distort and use to make you apathetic about life. To make you indifferent and even angry towards God‘s presence and blessings in your life.
I implore you, hold on!! Hold onto that light that God placed deep in you the moment he created you. That light that He knows can endure all things for His glory and shift the perspective to see the beauty in all things and through all things.
Nurture, feed, and fuel that light with all the beauty that God has still yet surrounded you with. See that the light within, is meant to grow and impact and change the world without.
These beautiful ladies…This moment...They see that light in one another...They fuel that light in one another and I couldn’t help but share some of the shine with you. I pray it fuels you like it does me, and that you go spread it to someone in need.

2013 VS 2020‼️

Man as I look back at the many times in my life that I thought I was waiting on God to move, I realize through what I’ve learned and how I’ve grown and what I’ve experienced that really, God was waiting on me.
We cannot continue to expect to fulfill the fullness of potential that God has placed in us in any way shape or form unless we stop looking at God’s timing through the lens of our worldly circumstances.
The amount of life that one can go through in the seven years between these two pictures… if you would’ve told me all that I would go through all the tragedy and suffering that I’ve endured and then that I’d come out on the other side looking like this and feeling as healthy happy and blessed and grateful as I do, I’d call you crazy.
But God knew... and He knows for you too!! But we’ve got to take REAL ACTION NOW. I’ve been saying it to myself, non stop for this whole year...”Faithfully Take The Steps”

On a day that we celebrate fathers I find myself full of love, gratitude, and appreciation for all that I have learned from the very children I’m blessed to be a father to.
You’ve taught me great lessons before you could ever speak a word... you’ve shown me the potential that’s within me through my aspirations and expectations of you.
you hold me accountable in ways you will never know. As a Father, as a Husband, as a Son, as Man of God, as a human.
I know I’ll never be perfect, and I can’t promise I’ll always say the right things at the right time... but I’ll always practice the very same thing I always preach to you.
I’ll never stop growing in every possible way. In Faith, in Love, In Understanding, in humility, in discernment...in the fulfillment of God’s calling and purpose on my life.
You made me better before you ever breathed a breath and I pray my example and presence in your lives can serve to do the same for you as you continue to grow.
Know that The blessing of you in my life is one of the greatest callings a man could ever receive.

If you ever find yourself upset, tired, or stressed out about things that are, at their core, really blessings in your life, don’t give into those feelings and just let them exist.
I feel like I’ve been saying this constantly this whole year but we simply need to CARE MORE! Care enough to constantly take inventory and be accountable and intentional with your perception of things and what that perception yields.
I caught myself the other day feeling irritated that yet again for the 5000th day in a row the kids wanted to play outside with me.😅😂
Then I realized how truly blessed I am for these moments of freedom in my life to be able to play with them... to be able to set my own work schedule and to be able to do that work from home...
how blessed I am that that the business I’ve built is directly connected to my own health and wellness so that I can keep up and ride bikes, play tag, and play football and soccer and not be exhausted from doing so.
After looking at it like that, I couldn’t wait to get my butt outside and play with the kids!😆🥳🙌🏾
If the seeds of perception that you have allowed to take root in your life don’t bear fruit I challenge you to care enough to root them out and plant new ones that prosper you to where you are called to be💯💯

We will always have further more progress and yet more work to do within our journey, but today I’m honored to celebrate our progress growth and continued successes despite every oppression, every built in systemic disadvantage, every threat, and every hate that we’ve endured, persevered, and thrived in the face of. We’re quite an amazing people and I’m honored, grateful, and proud to wake up everyday and be a part of the representation of us and a cog in the ever improving machine of progress.

Have y’all ever heard the saying, “don’t spend a dollar’s worth of time for $.10“?

Before five years ago that’s exactly what I used to do, between 1.5 and 2.5hrs in the gym on avg.
💣
with the amount of time I used to spend on my workouts you would’ve thought I’d be looking like a professional athlete. Instead I looked like that before pic you see there...
💣
My workouts weren’t as focused as they are today. My overall health journey wasn’t as intentional and I wasn’t as disciplined or relentless towards a mindset of Growth and progress in all areas… And I totally over complicated what I did in the gym and in the kitchen.
💣
so I took out a lot of the guesswork. Minimized the time and maximized the work that I did within it. I also simplified my nutrition and maximized the nutrition I was getting while decreasing my overall intake. Eat for fuel, not fun.
💣
The most rewarding part of this whole journey is that I get to teach what I’ve learned to others and see them have success not only for themselves but for their whole household and the loved ones that surround them.

I think about it almost every day… Where would my Mother be if I didn’t take the action God was calling me to take in my own health journey? It was drives me to keep sharing the way I do.
It was through equipping myself with the tools necessary and taking bold, faithful, and intentional action in my health journey that my Mother would soon do the same on the heels of a dangerously high BP reading, accompanied by strong recommendations, from her doctor, to begin using BP meds.
Moms was determined to avoid adding any meds to her daily regimen!! She declined the meds and instead had to monitor her BP hourly and if it hit a certain mark, go to the ER. She said she would find another way to get it under control. This was terrifying for me because I didn’t believe I could help her as I was trying to get my own health and wellness in order as well.
Then I realized that, though I wasn’t where I wanted to be in my health journey, I had made some really great progress… That’s when I realized I had something to offer and that it would be downright sinful not to attempt to bless my own Mother’s life with something that had been such a blessing for me. That’s when my Mother became my first client as a health and wellness coach.
Here we are five years later!! My health and fitness in my mid 30s is at a greater level than it was in any of my 20s. My mother, in her late 60s, is still not on blood pressure meds🙌🏾😆, says she feels better than she did in her 40s🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾, and she now coaches clients of her own!🤯🤩😆
When you’re met with your next opportunity to take bold, faithful, and intentional steps towards where God is calling you to go... keep in mind that He is not calling you for your deliverance alone.
So proud of you Moms and the awesome business we’ve built and are building together just by sharing what we’ve been blessed to learn and continue to learn on our journey.

Maaaaan, I can’t believe I’m about to say this and y’all know I’d rather drink my veggies and get them out of the way but these air fried Brussel Sprouts might be my new favorite thing!!

Don’t usually post flexing pics and such but eh, why not...I work pretty freaking hard. No clue really, how to flex though😅🤣
I remember initially trying to get back in shape and good health with the same styles and methods that fit me back when I was in college. I quickly realized as a Father, Husband and at the time full-time plant worker(55+hrs a week), The things that served me well in my early 20s, were no longer feasible, sustainable, or as effective as they once were.
I had two choices… I could give way to my ego and continue to stubbornly try my old ways, or I could humble myself enough to step out of my comfort zone in search for ways to make actual sustainable and healthy progress...
I stand before you a humble Man outside of his comfort zone😅😆
How often do you try to get out of your comfort zone? Is it as often as you’d like?

The presence of joy is not the exclusion of pain just as the presence of pain does not mean there can be no joy...whatever you are feeling on this day or any day, be sure the purpose and intension that it fuels is that of progress and fulfillment of whatever God is calling you to do.
I see my beautiful nieces and nephews, cousins, and daughters and sons of friends that were born around the same time as you EJ... I see the milestones you’d be hitting about now alongside them...
Rolling from belly to back and back again, crawling, eating solid foods, laughing, taking first steps...
The pain of losing you before any of those milestones is like nothing I’ve ever felt in my life… But so too, is the joy of meeting you, holding you, and loving you...feeling the warmth of your skin and hearing your little baby voice sounds... I’ll always cherish those memories.
The Joy, the pain, the whole myriad of emotions and feelings...I choose daily to use it all to draw me closer to fulfilling whatever God calls me to do, I choose to honor your memory with how I continue to move and in doing so, being reunited with you when my work here is done. However you feel today, make sure you honor all that you’ve been through by moving with intention to where your being called to go. Have a great week full of progress everyone.

At first I was looking for a quiet place to record myself singing this song but then I realized that a massive part of the heaviness that I feel on my heart...the frustration and yes the anger is in regard to the very ones that you see in this video. I’ve let them run around a bit more these last few days...play more, and bend the house rules just a bit...
Because I know the world we currently live in won’t willingly allow them any exceptions won’t willingly cut them any slack and that they could in fact follow every single rule and do everything right and still end up losing their life or placed at a disadvantage simply because of the color of their skin.
And while I’m so glad to hear of my non-black friends and family having deep and difficult discussions with their children about the injustices that they’ll most likely encounter and about being a voice and a part of the action for those underneath the knee of said injustices, I know that it’s an entirely different discussion that I must one day have with my children...but not just yet...I’ll let them enjoy the innocence of childhood that God has blessed us to provide for them just a little while longer before taking it away to prepare them for the possibility of evil they’ll most likely encounter at some point.
I know we’ve begun to make progress and hearts have begun to soften but I also know that some have hardened even more than before… I know the change we seek takes a great deal of faith, effort, and time to achieve. But the Holy Spirit is POWERFUL and I pray that the revelation of this moment in time will bring about a deep change that means that my Children won’t have to have the same talk with their kids, that I must inevitably have with them. I truly do love and appreciate you all for any part you’re currently playing in moving that needle of progress towards the change that is looong overdue. 🤣

“I’m a grown man and I need to provide for my family”
This was my mantra whenever I skipped out on playing with my son during day because I needed to sleep so I could work at night.
It was my go to validation card that I would play whenever missing a weekend family event for some last second, suddenly available OT.
That phrase became the security blanket that kept me so comfy cozy when it came to so many different things in life including my own health.
I still remember those days… Working 55+ hours a week and snapping up whatever scraps of overtime were available because we needed the money.
I’d actually convinced myself that in order to acquire the provision that God was calling me to acquire in his name, for myself, my loved ones, and those around me, I needed to sacrifice actually being a physical part of that very provision.
I’m so grateful for the day I faithfully took action and said yes to this business opportunity.
Through doing so I’ve realized that it isn’t about being “a grown man” but a GROWTH man! And I’m now blessed to provide for my family and loved ones with much more than my only my income.(though I certainly still do that earning more, now, than I did in the plant🙏🏾).
The greatest provision I could ever acquire in Gods name for myself, my loved ones, and anyone I meet is the fulfillment of the potential that lies within me.
And I learned that that potential reaches much further than the plant or even my own household. My intentions remain the same as a provider, but my approach has improved through my growth mindset and change of perspective as a result.
If you are someone that feels like a co-star in the story of your own life and you’re missing out on the best scenes of your own movie, like I was, you not alone and you’re not trapped.
