The Hidden Danger in Collecting Spiritual Teachings
Why your teachings might be keeping you asleep
You think you’re getting closer to truth.
But you might just be burying it in concepts — like putting sunglasses on a flashlight.
So why do we keep thinking more will get us there?
Spiritual knowledge is still knowledge.
It’s still a thought you carry.
And the more you think you know, the further you drift from what is — because every piece of knowledge covers the raw, living reality with another layer of concept.
Truth doesn’t need your belief.
Lies can’t survive without it.
One of the most seductive lies?
That piling on more concepts will somehow strip them away — that knowing more will set you free.
We’ve been trained to measure worth by accumulation.
Even in spirituality.
Books. Teachings. Mantras. Systems.
As if truth were a puzzle to complete.
If enlightenment came from collecting them, we’d all be Buddhas by now.
I’ve met seekers who could quote a hundred masters — yet couldn’t sit alone in silence for five minutes.
Every concept — no matter how luminous — is still a veil.
Before you know it, you’re not approaching truth — you’re feeding an illusion.
