This week I passed my exam and am officially a Certified ICEA Childbirth Educator 🥳

Lil backstory.. This past Christmas I decided I wanted to go further in the world of birth and become a birth educator In addition to my doula work. I chose ICEA they’re a huge advocate for supporting natural births and educating parents on alternatives to medical interventions so informed consent can be given. This certification entailed an 18 hour workshop, being at a minimum of 3 births, creating and presenting a 6 hour minimum childbirth class, and completing a 150 question exam.

All this to say… I am so excited!! A big thank you to my husband for actively supporting & encouraging my endeavors.

🚨📰 This week’s news highlight!
This article highlights how research has previously focused on the fetal development (which IS important) rather than the pregnant patient’s health. Both are extremely important factors of maternal health, but we need to shift our focus to the mother some more to combat maternal mortality 🤰.
