Autumn is my favourite reset season in the garden 🌾🍂

Compost is gold this time of year.
It feeds the soil, keeps the worms active, and builds that rich, crumbly structure plants love.
Those busy little worms turn scraps into nutrients, improving drainage and moisture retention naturally.
I always add a generous layer before winter especially in frost prone areas because compost helps insulate the soil and protect delicate roots from harsh cold snaps.
Healthy compost now means living soil through winter, and stronger growth in spring. 🌿

We all know not all water is the same yet we’re expected to drink whatever comes out of the tap.

I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t drink our town water.
The smell alone is enough for me.
Call me a water snob, and I’ll proudly own it. 💧

That’s why I’ve used Kangen water for years. It’s produced through electrolysis, creating different pH levels for different uses.
The drinking water is alkaline and rich in molecular hydrogen, which many people value for its antioxidant properties.
There’s also strong acidic water that can be used as a chemical free surface cleaner around the home.

For me, it fits a sustainable lifestyle less bottled water,
fewer harsh cleaning products,
and more awareness about what we put in and on our bodies.

Water matters.
And once you know better, you choose better. 🌿

✨Compost feeling a bit sour? 🍂
A SMALL handful of firewood ash in the compost adds
minerals & balances acidity 🌿
I call it “seasoning the compost” 😄

STOP tossing your hardwood ash 🪵
That “grey dust” is actually garden gold 🌿✨
A light sprinkle in spring around
helps flowers & fruit set like a dream.
Just don’t overdo it, ash can lift pH fast.

Who else saves their ash? 🙋‍♀️

Did you know that Hydrangeas are drama queens? 👑

Hydrangeas are basically the divas of the garden…
They want moist soil, morning drinks, and they faint if you ignore them in summer 😅💧
✅ Water early
✅ Water at the base
✅ Keep it consistent
Who else has a hydrangea that acts personally offended by the weather? 😂🌸

TIP 1. The watering glow-up💧✨

With all the hot days we have had, hydrangeas wilt like she’s giving you the silent treatment? 😅
Give her a slow soak at the base and she’ll perk up like
Oh…then she will think you DO love her. 😂🌸
💧 If you’ve got Kangen pH water at home, use it when you can, plants thrive on consistent hydration.

I never get tired of sunsets. 🌅

They ground me back into gratitude, back to my beliefs, my values, and the reminder to not take life for granted.

We are so lucky to live in this beautiful country, with skies like this right on our doorstep.

If you needed a reminder today, this is it, slow down, look up, and be thankful. 💛

3 facts about growing olive trees

They love sun good drainage.
Olives thrive in full sun and hate “wet feet.” Plant them in well-drained soil (or a raised mound/bed if your soil is heavy).

They’re drought-tough once established, but need water early on.
In the first 1–2 years, regular deep watering helps build roots. After that, they handle dry conditions well, though consistent moisture improves growth and fruiting.

Most need cross-pollination for heavier crops.
Some varieties are self-fertile, but yields are often better if you plant two compatible varieties (or have another olive nearby) to boost pollination.

2025 asked us to say goodbye , to loved ones, to finished work, and to chapters that quietly closed.
2026 opens a new beginning, a year of growth, prosperity, togetherness, love, and laughter.
May it challenge us, shape us, and fill our lives with hope and deep love. ❤️
