I don’t know if you need to read this 💪🏼
All I know is that when you say you’re going to commit to something, do it. The was a point in my life I would say I’m going to go to the gym, and then the hours would pass, I would get so busy, I would not go to the gym. Let me ask you something, if you can’t even show up for yourself, how are others supposed to trust you? If you can’t even keep a promise to the most important person in your world (yes, that’s you), then where else are you going to fall short?
I’m not judging you. These were thoughts that one day I realized. I am DECIDING not to go to the gym— it’s not that I can’t, that I don’t have time, that I am unreliable, I am making a decision, and that decision is not benefiting me and it sure as heck isn’t helping those around me and my future family.
I didn’t wanna be this unreliable person— I didn’t wanna keep putting others first and hello, at what cost? The cost of my health. No thank you!
I truly dug into my purpose in this world. I sat there and thought well this is it… I wanna keep serving others and bettering myself at the same time. You do not have to give up one to the other. Let me repeat myself. You DO NOT need to neglect yourself to pour into others’ lives. You CAN be there for yourself AND for others. YOU can show up today and decide to show up tomorrow. You CAN be a work in progress and work to help others progress in their lives. You got it?
You do not need to abandon your heart, your body, your soul, your energy, your love for YOURSELF to be there for others.
Stop what you’re doing right now (except for reading this). Keep reading this. Breathe. Relax your shoulders. Say the thing in your head that you’ve been neglecting for too long. Now, write it down. Now, say it aloud. What are you going to do to COMMIT to it?
Share it in the comments below if you feel comfortable enough. If not, comment below with a ✔️ so I know you’re committing to whatever it is that you need yourself to commit to.
Love you, friend. Happy Monday.
