I don’t know if you need to read this 💪🏼

All I know is that when you say you’re going to commit to something, do it. The was a point in my life I would say I’m going to go to the gym, and then the hours would pass, I would get so busy, I would not go to the gym. Let me ask you something, if you can’t even show up for yourself, how are others supposed to trust you? If you can’t even keep a promise to the most important person in your world (yes, that’s you), then where else are you going to fall short?

I’m not judging you. These were thoughts that one day I realized. I am DECIDING not to go to the gym— it’s not that I can’t, that I don’t have time, that I am unreliable, I am making a decision, and that decision is not benefiting me and it sure as heck isn’t helping those around me and my future family.

I didn’t wanna be this unreliable person— I didn’t wanna keep putting others first and hello, at what cost? The cost of my health. No thank you!

I truly dug into my purpose in this world. I sat there and thought well this is it… I wanna keep serving others and bettering myself at the same time. You do not have to give up one to the other. Let me repeat myself. You DO NOT need to neglect yourself to pour into others’ lives. You CAN be there for yourself AND for others. YOU can show up today and decide to show up tomorrow. You CAN be a work in progress and work to help others progress in their lives. You got it?

You do not need to abandon your heart, your body, your soul, your energy, your love for YOURSELF to be there for others.

Stop what you’re doing right now (except for reading this). Keep reading this. Breathe. Relax your shoulders. Say the thing in your head that you’ve been neglecting for too long. Now, write it down. Now, say it aloud. What are you going to do to COMMIT to it?

Share it in the comments below if you feel comfortable enough. If not, comment below with a ✔️ so I know you’re committing to whatever it is that you need yourself to commit to.

Love you, friend. Happy Monday.

The shift happened in March for me.

I was following my program (or so I thought) you know, eyeballing all my food groups, extra sugar won’t make a difference, a little more oil, it’s fine, stress was unbelievably high but it’s cool because I’m working out everyday for my physical and mental health right? Sleeping hours were all over the place. Until I blew up from all the sodium; my face and body were unrecognizable to me. I was so stressed out, I was legit crying every day. Oh and I got COVID 🤷🏻‍♀️
My body was telling me girl you’re not doing something right but I really thought there was nothing I could alter to get to my goals. Is this my new 30s body? I was in the BEST shape of my life at 29 thanks to these same programs. What in the actual hell is happening?

So here’s what happened. I recovered from COVID and told myself ok it’s time to try something outside of my comfort zone— same programs just something different. A New gut health program had just come out and I was skeptical about it at first. How am I supposed to give up dessert after a meal? I was used to eating it all (in moderation of course). No screen time past 8PM? What?! Probiotics everyday? I have the worst memory lol 😆 . And not gonna lie, the program was developed from not my fave trainer. Low impact workouts. Just being honest.

But I said you know what clearly what I’m doing isn’t working for me anymore. My body is screaming at me! So I joined my coach and a bunch of members and said OK, we are in this together.

Fast forward to the end of the program here’s what I learned. I was eating too much dairy for what my body was able to tolerate. I was overdoing it on sugar. I found a new routine in my sleep. I realized I experienced migraines so much less and I didn’t even crave coffee everyday. You KNOW that’s huge for me.

After 1 month of the program, I lost the 5 stubborn pounds that I thought were just part of being in my thirties. I had the energy of an energizer bunny (my students can tell you) and my mood was sooo stable.
But here’s what I really learned, it is never too late to achieve those goals that your mind and heart want so badly.

I just got off the phone with Justin & I was telling him how I feel like I have so much time on my hands every since I’ve been taking control of my mornings.

Granted, August is my summer vacation from teaching (summer program ended July 30th) BUT having a solid morning routine & changing it up with the seasons of your life is KEY!!!

No, I don’t always have this much time on my hands— but I love that even when I don’t I can still fit in my workout (20-40 mins), healthy meals, and hour or so of coaching work. It’s possible.

God, I still remember those days I used to run around and leave myself for last— no wonder I never got MY workout in, my ME time…

Life is different every couple of months or so BUT one thing remains— the need to put myself first.

I’m here to help you get a solid routine down packed, too. You just let me know when you want my help 😚🥰

“But, you looked fine.”

I didn’t start these programs because I thought I looked bad. I started these programs because I missed moving my body; I missed feeling like myself. I missed being in control of my day, my habits, myself!

I lost a part of myself when I was teaching all the time, going to grad school full time, sleeping very little, stressing over everything, eating anything at anytime, and being with the wrong people who made me feel like breathing was wrong.

It took me several months to say YES to myself so by the time .rasinski reached out to me and invited me to join her, I was ready to hit the floor running.

I didn’t just wakeup one day and become super disciplined; in fact— most days, I still struggle with wanting to show up for myself. So I work at it every single day. Discipline over motivation, mindset training, knowing I’ll feel better after I take care of me— first. I prefer this lifestyle of consistency than the one of inconsistency I had before.

I NOW know in my heart (& I think I always did, but just needed a wakeup call):

👉🏼 I never want to go back to not knowing what I’m putting into my body

👉🏼 I never want to just move my body without intention or being fully present

👉🏼 I never want to work at a place that created more stress than happiness

👉🏼 I never wanted to be in a relationship that made me question myself daily

These are just a few of my never- ever- again.

I know people say ‘never say never.’ But I never say never to the things I CAN control now.

Never - ever will I lose myself again.

❤️🥰

You don’t enjoy life less when you’re healthy 👉🏼 you get to enjoy life more.

I can’t tell you how many times people tell me…

oh Emily! You can’t have cake because you’re on a diet! And I’m like, I’m definitely having cake because I don’t believe in diets.

OR

Emily, you wake up so early — do you ever get to sleep in?! And I’m like: I schedule my sleep so I’m getting enough hours in so I don’t need to sleep in.

OR

You’re going to workout instead of (insert whatever) … nope, I’m going to workout and then do whatever, too.

Being healthy doesn’t mean you can’t do both. Being healthy does not mean you don’t get to eat out at your favorite restaurants, have your favorite treats, spend time with your favorite people. Being healthy doesn’t mean that I don’t have enough time to be a sister, a girlfriend, a professional, an aunt, a daughter, a friend.

Being healthy simply means I’m going to take care of me more so I can be there for all of those moments with the people I love the most, doing the things I love the most.

When you choose to be healthy, you add years to your life. You LIVE more.

You are as young as you feel ✨

I hear so many people say— when you get to your 30s, your body doesn’t work the same. You won’t have the same energy as you do in your 20s. You won’t lose weight as easily. Blah blah blah. Listen to me right now— all of that is BS.

I know people in their 60s who are healthier than people in their 20s. It all comes down to how much you put in to your health— that’s how much you’ll get out. Literally.

Ever since starting to track my meals again and moving my body in different ways then I’m used to (running), I’ve been more regular 💩 than ever, my metabolism is working great, and my energy is so much better. Toxins drain us and it’s important to rid ourselves of them. So don’t give up— try something different. Break through your plateau.

Eat right, take care of your body, move daily, and you’ll feel great, too. Age is a number and you can feel anyway you want at any age. Remember, it’s all about how bad you want it and how much you’re willing to put in.

I can help you feel your best when you’re ready 🥰

These are my progress leggings 🤩

A few weeks ago, I was gonna get rid of these because they felt so uncomfortable on my body— cut into my waist and super suffocating on my thighs.

Today, these leggings felt roomy at the waist and fit just the way I like them.

Progress ain’t always a number.
These runs are challenging me and getting me results! That’s why I decided to do a second round. Can’t wait to see what the next 24 days bring.

Want to start seeing results?! Want to love your journey?! Join me— stop second guessing. Stop the excuses. Just start & keep on showing up.

Let’s breakaway together!
