Prayers for Aby Abygail F. Bedtka lost her fight against Ohtahra Syndrome April 15th, 2016. She has tried multiply medicines to help control her seizures. Nothing has helped.

Our page is a journey of our daughter through her ups and downs of EIEE(Early Infantile Epileptic Encephalopathy) also known as Ohtahara syndrome. Aby was born having seizures and she is currently 2 years old and we have no control of her seizures. She is currently on 4 anti seizure meds and there still unable to control her seizures. Her neurologist also believes that she may have mitochondrial disease which is the powerhouse of the cells in our body. Aby sleeps 22 hours a day and doesn't have any head control or smile. Aby has 2 beautiful older sisters that love her more than anything and an amazing support team behind her. We currently just got nursing care for our sweet daughter. We have 2 amazing nurses that take care of Aby 12 hours a day. Its been the hardest journey but we will never give up on our daughter. We fight for a cure in honor of my daughter Aby and for every person struggling with a rare disease. Aby was only on this earth for 1015 days, or 145 weeks, or 2 years, 9 months, and 10 days. In that short amount of time, Aby taught me so much. She taught me how to love unconditionally, to fight through pain, and to never give up. Her disease Ohtahara syndrome took her life, but her fight lives on in the lives of each of us who were changed by knowing her.
