"Kanawar: Outline of an Ethnocultural Study" is a translation of the academic dissertation by Rolf Heinrich Deuster (1903–1941) on Kanawar (Kinnaur). It was originally published in German as "Kanawar: Grundriß einer Volks- und Kulturkunde" by Jordan & Gramberg, Leipzig, in the year 1939. Between 1932 and 1936, Deuster visited and stayed in the region on numerous occasions, which he used as the basis for his work. He also produced a short documentary film titled “Im Punjab-Himalaya - Volk und Feste in Mandi, Kulu und Bashahr” in 1935/36, which was distributed by now defunct Gottingen based Institut für den wissenschaftlichen Film (IWF).

An earlier translation was published by the Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Himachal Pradesh, in 1996. However, its quality left much to be desired. This edition seeks to rectify those shortcomings, ensuring a comprehensive and authentic understanding of Deuster’s work.

So this is what exactly happened ✅.

सारे झगड़े की वजह शांतिपूर्ण तरीके से प्रदर्शन कर रहे लोगों को लेकर था, सीएम सिक्युरिटी इंचार्ज को आदेश थे कि प्रदर्शन कर रहे लोग वहां नज़र ना आए, चाहे उनपर बल प्रयोग करना पड़े। परंतु एसपी गौरव सिंह ने ऐसा नहीं किया, और आम जनता को शांतिपूर्ण तरीके से अपनी बात रखने का मौका दिया। यही बात सीएम के सिक्युरिटी इंचार्ज को चुभ गई और उसने गुस्से में एसपी को बुरा भला सुना दिया। जिस जनता ने इनको सत्ता पर बिठाया उन्हीं को रास्ते से हटाने की बात करते हैं ये बेईमान नेता। एसपी गौरव सिंह ने बिल्कुल सही किया, वो जनता की शिकायतें सुनने वाले अफसर थे और बेईमानों और माफियाओं के लिए सिंघम थे।
