Sometimes, people ask me: “What does a session with you look like?”
The truth is—there’s no single answer.

My work isn’t about following a script. It’s about listening—to your words, your body, your story—and then offering the tools that serve you best in that moment. Sometimes that means coaching, sometimes energy work, sometimes breath and gentle movement. Most often, it’s a blend.

I’ve written more about this in my latest blog, My Approach – Walking Beside You. It’s a glimpse into how I support others in returning to themselves, not by fixing, but by uncovering the wisdom already within.

Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s deeply personal. And I’m honored to walk alongside those who choose this path.

Coming home after two weeks on the bike, I could feel it—the shift that happens when you step back into your own space: home. The walls, the light, the familiar objects all carry a kind of grounding energy. They remind me why I care so deeply about the connection between our inner world and our outer spaces.

This summer I wrote about Hygge at Home—not as a style or trend, but as a way of belonging. Our homes can hold us the way a warm blanket or a trusted friend does. They can soften us, remind us, and create room to breathe.

That’s why I offer my Hygge at Home consultations: to help people create spaces that nurture them, that tell their story, and that invite them to return to themselves.

How creating an intentional home can support stillness, clarity, and the quiet remembering of who you are.

One of the most meaningful parts of this work is hearing how it touches the lives of others. Someone I coached recently shared these words:

"Working with Nancy has been a transformative experience during a significant life transition. Her deep empathy and generous spirit created a sanctuary where I felt truly seen and supported. Nancy's unwavering commitment to helping others cultivate inner peace guided me through uncertainty, allowing me to reconnect with my authentic self. Her holistic approach fostered resilience and clarity, making my journey not just manageable but profoundly healing. I am deeply grateful for her presence and guidance."
- Michaelyn B.

I share this with gratitude, not as a spotlight on me, but as a reflection of what can happen when we create space to pause, to listen, and to reconnect.

If you’re curious about exploring this kind of work, you can read more in my journal or connect with me through my website: peaceofself.com.

Out here on this bike tour, I’m riding alongside people from so many different corners of the world. Each day brings new conversations, new perspectives, and reminders of how much richness there is in our differences—and our shared humanity.

It feels deeply connected to something I wrote about a few weeks ago in my blog Living Between Worlds – Intercultural Reflections. Growing up in Norway and later making a home in the U.S. taught me how to carry both cultures within me: the spaciousness of stillness and the excitement of possibility. Being on the road now, meeting people who each bring their own stories and cultural rhythms, I’m reminded of how valuable it is to hold space for more than one truth at a time.

If this speaks to you, I invite you to read the full reflection—and explore more inspiration in my “Journal” on the Peace of Self website.

One of the things I love most about cycling is how it changes the way I experience the world around me. On a bike, I notice things I’d miss in a car or even on foot—the way a small plant pushes through at the side of the road, how the light shifts as the landscape changes slowly, mile by mile.

I smell the trees, the desert sand, even the asphalt warming in the sun. I feel the wind, sometimes against me, sometimes at my back, always reminding me of movement and distance. Cycling makes me present in a way few other things do—it brings me into my body, into my breath, and into direct connection with the land I’m moving through.

These two weeks on the road are not just about covering miles. They’re about noticing. About presence. About remembering that even the smallest details hold meaning when we slow down enough to sense them.

This Monday was a big day — the launch of Peace of Self and the start of participating two weeks of a month long bike tour across the southern U.S. with PAC Tour.

I’ve had the privilege of riding and crewing with before, and am
always amazed by the care and precision they bring to these journeys. Everything is so thoughtfully organized, making space for riders, crew and all people involved. The organization allows riders to be present to their pedalling,-allowing breath and their ability to focus on taking in the vastness of the beautiful nature and landscape

Cycling, for me, is more than a physical challenge. It's meditative. Mile by mile, I find myself reflecting on life — on the places I’ve been, the transitions that have shaped me, and the rhythm of moving forward one turn of the wheel at a time. There’s a simplicity in it, yet a quiet wisdom: we don’t have to know what’s around every bend. We just show up and
keep going, with presence and trust.

I’m grateful for the chance to be here, as a supporting crew and riding alongside such dedicated people, and carrying the same spirit of presence that inspires my work in Peace of Self.

I’ve always known there was something waiting to take shape—a way of living and working that honors the journey of where I’ve been. I didn’t know exactly what it would look like, but I knew it would come.

Over the last eleven years, through movement, healing, and transformation, this vision has been quietly forming. It hasn’t been about creating a business plan on paper. It’s been about living it—day by day, moment by moment, with breath as my guide.

And now, it’s here.
Peace of Self is live.

This is more than a website launch. It’s the breath that has been asking to be seen, the work that has grown out of my own lived experience. A space for life coaching, therapeutic yoga, hygge-inspired home and retreat experiences—all rooted in presence, compassion, and the belief that healing begins when we slow down enough to listen.

Alongside my work with ZBD and volunteering with the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, Peace of Self is part of my wider commitment to creating spaces of dignity, belonging, and healing.

To celebrate, I’m offering a special launch gift: anyone who books an initial call in September will receive an exclusive introductory rate on coaching packages.

Take a moment to explore, breathe in the stories and offerings, and see what resonates.

This is Peace of Self. And I can’t wait to share it with you.

Something new is almost here. This Monday, September 8th, is the launch of www.peaceofself.com - a place where you’ll find coaching, yoga, hygge retreats, and reflections that honor both inner and outer belonging.

After decades of living this work, I’m ready to share it in a new way—with a digital home that reflects the journey.

Stay tuned for the launch. This is only the beginning.

What began as a physical practice became a path home.

My first yoga class was in 2014. I don’t remember the exact date or poses, but I remember how I felt—I had come home to my body after a long hiatus. There was a breath I didn’t know I’d been holding. And when I let go, something shifted.

Yoga, for me, quickly became more than movement. It became a space of reconnection. A way to listen in, to make room for emotions that I hadn’t been taught to sit with. It reminded me to check in with myself,-Where I am, who I am, what I feel.

The path began here!

It starts with that first step! We are here when you are ready!

Self-acceptance is the gateway to healing.

Why I show up.
Why I write.
It’s for the self-expression that comes from self-reflection.

It all began with yoga. It changed me. Through yoga, I found self-acceptance. I connected not to my mind, but to my body. My breath, my nervous system, my feelings—they all came alive. My body, once shut down, could breathe again.

This new mindfulness brought clear thinking and focus. I learned to trust myself. I began to love myself and my story, reconnecting with the forgotten pieces. I realized my past and my pain were not me—they were my lessons.

Self-acceptance is the gateway to healing. Yoga was the support I needed to be vulnerable. I share my experiences on this platform to bring hope, not for likes or numbers. My only hope is that my words can reach someone, and that you can find a piece of your own story in mine. Healing takes time. Give yourself the time to connect with the whole of who you are.
