Ultimate procrastination - creating stickers and pins for my page and website I’ve not put content on in more than a year.

I have stuff to say, just lacking the courage and time to say it.

Will you consider helping my friend Kate. please.

As an employee of our school district I have to take general training each year. It is online. One section is understanding chronic health conditions in the classroom. I was extremely impressed with the 4 minute lesson about diabetes.
Of course there was a glitch in the system, and it wouldn't record that I completed the learning segment so I had close the page and rewatch the lesson. I am now very informed about diabetes. LOL

42 - the answer to life, the universe, and everything, was Adam Brown channeling Douglas Adams?

Not included on the list:
- Position of Saturn in relation to my salt cellar.
- How many cracks my child stepped on between the ages of 3 and 11.
- Gremlins, Pixies, Sprites, Boggarts, Etc

In all seriousness, this list is very comprehensive and can help pwd determine what may be causing rogue blood sugars.

You can download the list in poster form from the link below, sometimes it’s helpful to share material such as this with school health care staff.

Be sure to check out Adam Browns book Bright Spots & Landmines.
I received my copy from the Tandem Diabetes booth when I attended the Childrrn with Diabetes Friends For Life conference in July. (It had previously been on my Amazon wishlist so that worked out nicely.

Long chat with a mom who is sending her oldest child, who has type 1, off to college 2000 miles away from home.
I was certainly impressed by all the ‘what if’ scenarios she came up with.
To all those parents out there packing up SUVs with mini refrigerators, shower caddies, and love, your kiddo will be ok. It’s ok to be scarred, worried, anxious, and sad, don’t let those emotions keep you from the proud, excited, and happy for them feelings.
Set boundaries with your kiddo regarding when and how you check in for both diabetes stuff and regular stuff.
Trust them.
Trust yourself that you’ve done well and they can take the wheel.

Holy hell this this hurt!
Granted I didn’t read instructions to know I could adjust depth of stab by spinning the gold ring, in fairness instructions are all in Chinese.
I thought it was such a cool looking lancing device, not work the cost or pain. Thankfully it’s returnable which is another reason to avoid purchasing it. Who takes back medical devices?
My finger still hurts, it’s been 20 min.

Hello. I'm still here. I haven't posted or shared anything is so long it might seem I went away. Truth is between teaching so often, the pandemic, and my kids (two of which are technically adults), I've been busy. The real truth is my lack of motivation and the overwhelming desire to nap wins out over posting/writing/sharing.

I have so much I want to share. Thoughts, ideas, stories.
I just lack the motivation or drive to get things from my head to the keyboard and ultimately to you.

So I had a thought today while I was tidying the kitchen.

What if I invited you to write a guest post for my blog.
I think many of you have stories to tell.
The stories can be from people living with type 1, the partner to someone with type 1, or a parent of a child with type 1.
I'd welcome stories from folks with LADA or Type 2 as well, after all diabetes may come about in different ways but in the end the risk of complications, struggles with depression and anxiety, and overly complicated relationship with food is often the same regardless of the type of diabetes. I've often said "If you have diabetes or love someone with diabetes, you're my type".

Many of you have blogs or other social media platforms that you already share on and I love reading blogs that tell stories. If you have one and you don't think I've hears about it - please share the link in the comments. If you don't have one and you do have a story you want to share please message me.
BIG rule - No child names and no last names please. Also no photos of children. I have shared some photos of my own children, but I know I had their permission.

I want to get motivated again. Maybe your stories will move me in that direction and we never know who our stories will help when we share them.

Wishing you all health and happiness.

Depression and diabetes often come as a set. Be kind to yourself. Living with diabetes and/or caring for another with diabetes is hard.
