Hello everyone! I just wanted to post a quick update as I have been answering quite a few emails and inquires! I am currently on a break of being a Doula as I am dealing with some family medical issues. I plan on coming back and will post when I do! December has been a busy month! Attended a birth at the beginning and another birth happening any day now! I am so excited to be getting back into the swing of things and helping women with finding their voice and confidence in their pregnancy. So many exciting things are planned and I cannot wait to share them with you! (Stay tuned for updates). With that being said, I am currently booking into mid March. Being that I am only taking about one birth a month, my books tend to fill up fast, so don’t hesitate to schedule a free consult with me so I can answer any questions you might have! 🖤🤰🏼

A gentle reminder. Also a quick check in and update! I am currently booking into February. I am trying to keep my social media pages updated, but between studying for exams and wrapping up soccer season for the boys ⚽️ my socials have taken a back seat. Needless to say I’m still around and am available for any questions! Big things are coming, Grand Forks! I’m excited! 🖤🤰🏼

I get a lot of people who ask me why I chose to become a doula. There are lots of reasons honestly. I have personally used a doula for my own births and saw firsthand the benefits of having one. My doula helped me craft the perfect birth plan. One that I was completely comfortable with. She also helped educate me so that I knew what to expect when I went into labor. My biggest reason for becoming a doula was to help women feel confident and strong in pregnancy and in childbirth. To give women and their partners the opportunity to reflect on their birth in a positive way. I believe that every woman deserves a doula and I am always honored to be one for the births that I attend. Birth is incredible just as all the women are for enduring it.

There are so many reasons to hire a doula! Not only is there an extra set of hands to help counter pressure those painful contractions, but having a doula as a member of your birth team can help decrease medical interventions by 60%!

Women have also reported that having a doula helped decrease the length of labor significantly and overall women reflected on having a positive birthing experience.

I thought I would take a second to re-introduce myself to those who already know me, and formally introduce myself to those who do not. Hello! My name is Hailee Viekman. I am married to a wonderful man named Jonathan. We have three little boys, two dogs, and a cat. I was a doula for around 3 years and realized in those years, that supporting women through pregnancy and birth was my passion. After a few years of doula-ing, I decided to take off my doula hat for a little bit and used that time to focus on being a mom. This last year, the calling to support women has only become louder and louder. With that being said, I am so proudly and excitedly announcing my business as The Grand Forks Doula! I am open for consults, and I will be starting to take on clients with a January 2023 due date at the earliest. So please don’t hesitate to schedule a consult NOW, as I do anticipate my schedule to fill up quite quickly. I will have more info to come as I work on my website/social media pages in the coming weeks! I am so excited to be serving our community once again!
