At this morning’s General Session, ACA CEO Shawn E. Boynes and ACA President Christine Suniti Bhat presented a $10,000 check to the Florida Counseling Association, a group that has shown incredible dedication and passion in advocating on behalf of counseling both in Florida and nationally.

The members of FCA have not only been active in their local community, but they’ve also played a pivotal role in planning this year’s annual conference and helping us make and keep advocacy a focus.

Happy Monday Colleagues! This is Dr. Summers, past president of FAMCD. The 9th Black Mental Health Symposium was a huge success this past week. There, we screened a short film, It's Clinical. Jermaine Williams, the film director lives between Jax and Pensacola and uses It's Clinical to increase mental health literacy and help-seeking behaviors among people in Black communities, specifically the 'hood. I love this film--the cinematography, the soundtrack, and the screenwriting are all superb. I'd love to blow this up. Please watch and share. It's 26 minutes. *TW: explicit language use, brief inference to self-harm and drugs.
