The Meatless Marathoner In 2013, I ran my second marathon and my first as a vegan. Despite the much harder course, I took 42 minutes off my personal record!

I created this page to help others go veg*. There are countless benefits to a vegetarian or vegan diet, including a lower risk of heart disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes. People on a plant-based diet also tend to have lower blood pressure and cholesterol. In addition, many athletes at the top of their game have an entirely plant-based diet. These include: Ricky Williams, Martina Navratilova, Carl Lewis, and Scott Jurek. This page is a resource for anybody leading an active lifestyle or who just wants more energy throughout the day. Every day, I'll post tools like easy recipes, inspirational stories, mobile apps, and other tools that make it easy to incorporate a plant-based diet into an active lifestyle.

Non-traditional vegan Thanksgiving in Casa HayDoug. Jambalaya, a family friend's stuffing, chocolate pudding cake with cashew whipped cream, and a pumpkin loaf. Quality time cooking wonderful food together. No reason to go back for seconds and put ourselves in a food coma when the food is so good to begin with. 😀
