It is Food Allergy Awareness Month and this week is FA Awareness Week!
As the boy child is now an adult and manages his allergies himself, I don’t have as much occasion to share about food allergies in natural conversation. Nearly 21 years of worrying over food allergies doesn’t just go away because I’m not in charge of his food prep anymore, though. I will probably always worry about the remaining allergies he has and will probably always stick to my kitchen habits that came from avoiding cross contamination (two knives are used in making a PB&J even though peanuts are safe now🤦🏼♀️). We have extended family with other food sensitivities now, which makes me glad to have had experience that makes me feel better equipped to accommodate them, too.
Take a few moments to read the above photos and ASK (me or someone else who deals with them) how you can make eating an easier experience for those with food allergies!
