Happy New Year from Orchard Mews! 🎉
We’ve had an amazing year in 2025, filled with wonderful adventures — from trips to St James’s Park, Whitley Bay Playhouse, and many more memorable days out.

We’ve also been lucky to enjoy fantastic entertainers throughout the year, along with some great celebrations shared together.

As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to see what the new year brings, with even more great adventures still to come. 🌟

John Fletcher visited the home and brought lots of Christmas fun with his amazing performance. Everyone really enjoyed the festive entertainment!

Today, the staff at Orchard Mews got into the festive spirit by coming to the home in their pyjamas to celebrate Christmas Pyjama Day. It brought lots of smiles and Christmas cheer to everyone! 🎄

✨ Orchard Mews night out at Whitley Bay Playhouse! ✨

We had a fantastic evening watching Beauty and the Beast at Whitley Bay Playhouse. 🌹

BAFTA award-winning CBBC star Dani Harmer, the unforgettable Tracy Beaker, truly lit up the stage as Belle — absolutely enchanting!

A special shout-out to Steven Wall, who played an amazing part and kept us all laughing throughout the show 😂👏

Such a magical night enjoyed by everyone! ✨🎭

Gill and Susan had a lovely day out today! 🎄🚌
We hopped on the local bus to Newcastle and spent the afternoon wandering around the city centre. Susan picked out some cards, and we couldn’t resist stopping to admire all the beautiful Christmas decorations. ✨🎅

Such a nice way to get into the festive spirit! ❤️

🎄✨ Christmas Fayre Success at Orchard Mews! ✨🎄

Orchard Mews opened our doors on Saturday for our Christmas Fayre, welcoming our wonderful friends and family. We’re delighted to share that we raised an amazing £234.75 for our Resident Fund! ❤️

We were also honoured to receive a visit from our local MP Chi Onwurah, along with Consistency Mohammed and Margaret. Thank you so much for taking the time to join us.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make this such a special event — and an extra big thank you to our incredible staff for all their hard work and festive spirit. 🌟

Lovely to join the wonderful staff, residents and their families at Orchard Mews Care Home in Elswick for their Christmas Fair - tombola, raffle, craft stalls, vintage clothes and cake were all there but what was most noticeable was the love and community on display

Gill and Kevin have been out making communion links. We enjoyed a lovely evening of Bingo, good food, and great company. Plus, we picked up even more Christmas gifts—thank you so much to Dunelm Gateshead for your generosity!

Sorry for such a late post! On Wednesday we took a trip to Newcastle to see the Fenwick window. Our residents also fancied a Greggs stop, of course! We enjoyed a wander around the Christmas market and even managed a look at St James’ Park. 🎄✨
