It's National Telecommunicator Week, and we're celebrating the incredible team behind the scenes at our Communication Center - the very first responders who answer the call 24/7. ❤️

From 911 calls and interfacility transfers to air and ground transports, they manage 300+ requests every day and provide life-saving pre-arrival instructions, coaching callers through CPR, rescue breathing, Narcan administration and even childbirth – while coordinating crews and tracking every mission.

We’re thankful for their unwavering dedication to keeping our communities safe!

At North Memorial Health, our EMT educators make a powerful impact every day! 🚑

Not only do they support specialized instruction for the Minnesota State Patrol, but they also partner with 27 police and fire agencies statewide and train more than 2,000 responders each year.

Their work strengthens communities and prepares responders to respond with confidence when every second counts. ❤️

Last month, our amazing Brainerd EMS team braved the icy waters and took on the Polar Plunge in support of the Special Olympics! 🏅❄️

Their courage and community spirit paid off and together, they raised $3,500 to help empower athletes with disabilities.

When Audrey joined our team in 2024, she spotted a chance to expand access to primary‑language stroke education materials. 🧠

Knowing how critical this information is and inspired by her own family’s stroke journey, she stepped up. With support from the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance/Minnesota Stroke Association and our Stroke Program Manager, Audrey brought professionally translated Spanish Stroke Education books to units caring for patients who need them most.

Caring for our community means meeting people where they are – and making sure everyone has the tools to heal, recover and thrive! 💙

The connections we build at work often become the foundation for our most meaningful experiences. 🛫

This fall, Karl, Trent, Austin, Ted, and Michelle, all current and former members of the North IT Department, took a memorable trip across Japan. What started as Karl’s long-standing love of Japanese culture became an opportunity to explore Tokyo, Sapporo, Noboribetsu, Hakodate, and Aomori. 🗾

Whether it was navigating Tokyo’s transit system or finding calm in a northern hot spring, years of solving problems together created a strong foundation for traveling as a group. Karl and Trent are already planning a return visit this October!

The recent warm weather has many of us eager to dust off our bikes - but before you hit the trails, make sure you and your family have your head protected. 🚲

Helmets are one of the most effective ways to prevent serious injury while biking. At our annual bike helmet sale, you and your family will get free, on-site fittings with your helmets! Start your biking season safely this Wednesday, March 11 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at North – Robbinsdale Hospital.

North - Robbinsdale Hospital recently received a heartfelt gift from Sophia, a student and volunteer with Origami for Good, a youth‑run nonprofit that celebrates Japanese heritage through creativity. 💌

She sent 1,000 hand‑folded origami cranes, each crafted with intention and compassion. In her note, Sophia shared the Japanese legend that folding 1,000 cranes grants a wish — and hers is that every patient and team member who receives one feels continued health and happiness.

The cranes will be shared with the North team to brighten spaces, lift spirits, and offer a moment of comfort. ✨

Meet Alexis – North paramedic, heart survivor, and passionate advocate for women’s heart health. ❤️

Surviving a major heart event as a child has shaped everything Alexis does as a paramedic, pre‑med student, CPR instructor, and even local Miss America titleholder. One of her proudest EMS moments was helping save someone in cardiac arrest thanks to quick‑thinking bystanders.

She’s seen firsthand that heart disease affects people of all ages. That’s why she uses her story to champion Go Red for Women and congenital heart defect awareness. In the field, she’s proactive about running EKG tests because so many issues go unnoticed until it’s too late.

Alexis reminds us that National Heart Month means listening to survivor stories, learning CPR, and checking your own heart health. 🫀
