This Sweet & Spicy Chilli Chicken is one of those recipes that just works. It's high in protein, light on sugar, and kind to your hormones. 🙌
Many of us in perimenopause or menopause find that the meals that once “worked” no longer feel right. This one supports energy, satiety, and hormone health, without the overwhelm.
Ingredients
1 tbsp sesame oil
50–100 g honey (adjust to taste)
1 tsp chilli flakes
125 ml soy sauce or tamari
900 g chicken thighs (or breast for leaner option)
2 tsp olive oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tbsp cornflour mixed with 120 ml water
2 spring onions, sliced
1 tbsp sesame seeds
Serve with:
Steamed veggies (broccoli, zucchini, green beans) and quinoa or cauliflower rice for a lighter, hormone-friendly twist. 😋
Directions
1. Mix sesame oil, honey, chilli flakes, and soy sauce in a bowl.
2. Coat chicken in marinade.
3. Heat olive oil in a large pan and cook chicken until golden and cooked through.
4. Add garlic to the leftover marinade, stir in the cornflour mix, and simmer until thickened.
5. Add chicken back into the sauce and coat well.
6. Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions. Serve with veggies and grain of choice.
