Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most common diseases in pet dogs. It is a degenerative joint disease that causes lameness and chronic pain. OA has been found in over 80% of dogs over 8 years of age and in 20% of dogs over 1 year of age.😱 The wide variety in clinical signs makes it sometimes difficult to be recognized by owners. If you notice any physical or behavioral changes in your dog, see your veterinarian and have them examined. Although OA cannot be cured, there are many things we can do to control pain and ensure a good quality of life for our pets.🐶🩺.
