📢Action Alert!!!!!! From Disability Rights California
This morning in a 51-50 vote in which Vice President JD Vance cast the tie-breaker, the Senate passed Trump's disastrous reconciliation bill. The budget bill now goes back to the house, and Republicans are trying to push it through as quickly as possible to avoid debate and scrutiny. Currently they are targeting to get the bill to a House floor vote and signed into law TOMORROW.
You can still act and call your Representative to tell them to vote "NO" on this bill. We only need a few Republicans to stand up for their constituents to stop this incredibly harmful bill. DRC CEO Andy Imparato says bluntly, "In my 34 years of work in disability advocacy this is the most harmful bill for disabled people that I have ever seen."
Call NOW: 866-426-2631
The budget bill would rip away health insurance for 3.4 million Californians who rely on Medi-Cal and the ACA Exchange. Additionally, it provides several six figure tax breaks for the top income earners in the U.S. while increasing taxes for low-income individuals. This bill will cost lives by limiting healthcare access, increasing debt on those already financially struggling, gutting rural hospitals, and more. We must fight back NOW!
