For All Ages

For All Ages Empowering people to build real connections that transform health and life outcomes. Join us. 🌟 Our vision. Connecting generations changes lives and communities.

Our vision is a healthy community that is connected across generations. We're working to end loneliness and ageism through intergenerational programs and events. More than 60% of Americans are lonely. That's 200 million people. And in Connecticut alone, that's 2.1 million people. Those same people lack the opportunity for meaningful in-person social interactions on a regular basis. Our communities have become segregated by age over the past 50 years, which has resulted in an increase in isolation and loneliness among older adults. And young adults are now feeling more lonely than older adults. Reuniting the generations improves the health and well-being of individuals of all ages and increases community cohesion. And it changes perceptions of aging. We invite you to join us on our journey to connect the generations and inspire action to end loneliness and ageism. Follow our facebook and Instagram pages, volunteer with us, and/or donate to help our mission. See www.forallages.org for more information.

This week, we gathered again as part of the Glastonbury Social Connections Project to explore Creating Connection & Community - and what a meaningful evening it was. 💛

We were thrilled by the wonderful turnout and the thoughtful conversations, shared experiences, and genuine engagement throughout the program. It was inspiring to see neighbors connecting and strengthening bonds.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this session so impactful. We’re grateful to be building connection together.

Thank you to the Congregational Church of South Glastonbury and the Welles-Turner Memorial Library for partnering with us on this program. And thank you to the Glastonbury Greater Together Community Fund for sponsoring the Social Connections Project.

Only 2 weeks away! We still have a few team spots open for our America 250 event on April 17. 🎉

Together, we'll pack love and spread connection to isolated older adults. Through a $2,500 sponsorship, your organization will take part in a hands‑on, intergenerational volunteer event alongside local college students to assemble curated engagement kits that foster joy and community for our most vulnerable neighbors.

Learn more at forallages.org/connectathon. Email Deb at deb.bibbins@forallages.org to sign up your team!

✨ Small moments. Real connection. Shared joy. ✨

This week, our Campus Connectors hosted a truly heartwarming virtual gathering with a small group of our Tea @ 3 Intergenerational Friendship Community members.

What started as a simple online meetup became something more:
💬 Laughter shared across generations
🎨 A handmade bookmark created together
📚 Stories of books that have shaped lives

Even in a virtual space, these conversations carry a sense of presence and warmth that feels anything but distant. It’s a reminder that connection isn’t defined by the format - it’s created by the people who show up for one another.

How do you measure social connection? And why does it matter for health?

Fred Schott, Co-Chair of the CT Collaborative to End Loneliness (CCEL) Healthcare Professionals Workgroup, is in Washington, D.C. this week representing CCEL at a national convening hosted by the Foundation for Social Connection.

As the CCEL convening organization, For All Ages is proud to support this critical work. Backed by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, the convening brings together researchers, clinicians, community leaders, and people with lived experience to tackle a major challenge: how to measure social connection - and related experiences like loneliness - in ways that are meaningful, consistent, and centered on people.

We’re grateful for Fred’s leadership in representing Connecticut and advancing national conversations to improve health and well-being.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that our Tea @ 3 Intergenerational Friendship Community has been nationally recognized as a Program of Distinction by Generations United. This certification recognizes Tea @ 3 for meeting rigorous standards of quality and sustainability in intergenerational programming.

Since launching this 12-week program in 2020, nearly 1,000 participants - including 84 older and younger adults this spring - have grown intergenerational friendships. This recognition wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our participants, volunteers, and supporting partners who help us foster meaningful connections across generations! 💛

We’re grateful to the Simsbury-Granby Rotary for their generous support of our Tea @ 3 Intergenerational Friendship Community. There’s something special that happens when people of different generations come together with openness and curiosity - we see it in meaningful ways each week. Rotary's support helps make these moments possible and celebrates the power of human connection. 🫶

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our board member, Stefan Riedling.

Stefan first offered his wisdom as a member of our Advisory Council as we launched For All Ages in 2019. He later joined our Board of Directors to deepen his contributions and help guide our work.

Stefan was known for asking the hard questions - the thoughtful, important questions that pushed us to think more deeply about our mission and impact. He helped envision the Connecticut Collaborative to End Loneliness and was deeply passionate about intergenerational connection and addressing loneliness. At the same time, he had a joyful sense of humor and was willing to pitch in whenever and wherever he was needed.

We are grateful for Stefan’s leadership, insight, and belief in this work. He will be deeply missed by all of us at For All Ages. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones. ♥

Our vision.

Our vision is a healthy community that is connected across generations. We're working to reduce loneliness and isolation, improve the health and well-being of people of all ages, and change the dialogue on aging through intergenerational programs.

Our communities have become segregated by age over the past 50 years, which has resulted in an increase in isolation and loneliness among older adults. And young adults are now feeling more lonely than older adults.
