New CalAIM Community Support: Recuperative Care

MISI Community Solutions now offers Recuperative Care as a CalAIM Community Support benefit for Medi-Cal members who meet eligibility criteria.

Recuperative Care provides short-term housing support for members recovering from illness or injury who do not require hospital-level care and do not have stable housing.

What Recuperative Care May Provide

- A bed and temporary housing
- Meals
- Monitoring of medical/behavioral health needs
- Transportation to appointments
- Case management and housing connections

Who May Be Eligible?
- A Medi-Cal member must generally meet both:

1. Medical Needs :

- Recovering from illness/injury
- Condition may risk ER use/hospitalization without support
- Safe recovery is not possible where they currently live

2. Homeless or At-Risk

- Experiencing homelessness, or
- At risk of losing housing

CalAIM services are available to Medi-Cal members who meet eligibility criteria and receive authorization through their Managed Care Plan. Availability varies by county and health plan.

Our doulas are here to help you:

✨ Afsona’s Journey to a New Home ✨

Meet Afsona, one of our incredible community members who moved to the U.S. from Tajikistan three years ago. At first, life was tough: her husband struggled to find a job, their English was limited, and they were living in a cramped apartment with her grandmother and her grandmother’s husband. With two kids and another baby on the way, they desperately needed a bigger place to call home.

Then a friend told them about Misi Community Solutions. We were able to help them with the moving costs, provide all the furniture they needed, and now they have their own home where each child has their own room. Afsona and her family are so happy and grateful to be settled in a comfortable space they can truly call their own.

We’re honored to be part of their journey!
