You deserve more than “just wait and see” when feeding and sleep is hard.

You’re not doing anything wrong — it’s just hard. And you shouldn’t have to do it alone.

🙋🏼‍♀️ I’m Dee — mom of two, RN, and lactation counsellor. I know firsthand how stressful it can feel when feeding or sleep isn’t going the way you hoped.

That’s why I’m now offering in-clinic support in Bowmanville at Optimal Health Chiropractic — a cozy, baby-friendly space where you can get the help you deserve.

Here’s how I can support you, in-clinic:
🍼 Feeding Assessments (breast or bottle)
👅 Tongue tie screenings
🍼 Bottle education + technique coaching
📚 Prenatal feeding education sessions
💤 Gentle sleep support consultations

💸 Services are billed at in-clinic pricing, with RN/lactation receipts available for insurance coverage.
⏳ Limited weekly spots to keep support personalized and flexible.

The house was quiet.

The kind of quiet you don’t dare interrupt — because the baby had finally gone down.

But instead of sleeping, her mind started racing.

🤷🏼‍♀️Did he feed enough? Was that last wake too long? Should I try a different nap schedule? What if this keeps happening?

Within minutes, she was wide awake… just in time for the next cry to come through the monitor.😩

This wasn’t just one rough night. This was every night.

Waking every 1–2 hours.
Naps cut short.
Constant second-guessing and wondering if she was “doing something wrong.”

When we connected, we took a step back and looked at the bigger picture:
🌟Was baby’s sleep environment setting them up for rest?
🌟Were feeds meeting their needs in the daytime?
🌟Did the schedule fit the baby, or was it forcing the baby to fit the schedule?

We made small, realistic changes that fit this family’s values — without pressure, without judgment, and without a cookie-cutter plan.

Two weeks later?
👉🏼Baby was sleeping 5–6 hour stretches overnight
👉🏼Naps were longer and more predictable
👉🏼Mom told me, “I finally feel like myself again.”

If you’re living in the 3AM spiral right now, you don’t have to do this alone.

I remember taking this photo and thinking—“I want to remember this moment forever.”

With my daughter, breastfeeding started off so much easier than it had with my first…
Until one day, it wasn’t.
Pain crept in. My supply dipped. The worry started all over again.

Neither of my breastfeeding journeys went the way I expected.
And I struggled—hard.

I spent so much time wondering what I was doing wrong.
Why it didn’t feel as “natural” as everyone said it would.
Why I felt so much pressure to keep going, even when it was hurting.

But here's the thing I’ve come to realize:

Breastfeeding is natural, yes—but that doesn’t make it easy.
And it doesn’t make it intuitive for every baby, every parent, every body.

What got me through was support. Real, compassionate, non-judgmental support.

It’s what I needed then—and it’s exactly what I offer now as a Registered Nurse and Lactation Counsellor. Because no parent should have to figure this out alone.

This week is World Breastfeeding Week. But I don’t just want to celebrate breastfeeding—I want to honour all the ways we feed our babies.
The choices. The pivots. The grief. The pride. The messy in-between.

And if you’re in it right now—questioning, struggling, or just needing someone to walk beside you?

I’m here. Let’s make a plan that feels good and actually works for your family.

🌙 Why Your Baby’s Sleep Keeps Falling Apart (and what to do about it)

You finally find a rhythm with sleep… and then suddenly, your baby is up every 2 hours again. Naps are chaos. Everyone’s exhausted.

Sound familiar?

It’s not your fault — it’s likely a sleep regression.

But here’s the thing:
Sleep regressions aren’t actually regressions. They’re signs your baby or toddler is growing and developing in big, incredible ways.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

🍼 4 Months – Sleep cycles mature, causing more night wakings and short naps.
👶 8–10 Months – Crawling, pulling to stand, and learning object permanence = brain on overdrive.
👧 12 Months – Nap transitions, walking, and testing limits can throw things off.
🧒 18 Months – Separation anxiety + big toddler feelings often show up at bedtime.
👶 2 Years – Language, independence, and fears (monsters, anyone?) can make sleep tricky again.

💡 Sleep disruptions are normal — but that doesn’t mean you have to just wait them out.
There are gentle, responsive ways to support your little one through each stage.
