I have posted from Cafe Astrology's thoughts about Joe Biden who has a most congenial and Statesman like Natal Chart. So very unlike the Erratic and self centered Trump who has most all of his planets in the upper left hand side of his chart meaning that he is totally focussed on himself.

MERCURY TURNING RETROGRADE

The reason for extra concern with the truth right now is because Mercury's next retrograde phase (three times a year for approx three weeks at a time) is upon us. In simple terms Mercury as the winged messenger of the gods rules everything to do with communication, information and transport. When he's retrograde all of the things encompassed under those three headings can be unreliable or, at worst, unravel in all kinds of chaotic ways.

Scorpio in traditional astrology is one of the "mute" signs - ie symbolized by creatures rather than people, the scorpion, the eagle and the phoenix. So what is not being said is always a theme with Mercury in Scorpio. It's a great natal placing for a therapist, the “talking cure”, the bereavement or relationship counselor (with Scorpio's link to s*x and death/rebirth) and all types of psychoanalysis. Mercury in Scorpio Meg Ryan did as much for women’s s*xuality as she did for her own career with her iconic faking an or**sm scene in When Harry met Sally. Mediums and psychics are found here too, the conduits between this world and another.

So Mercury is what we say and how we say it, but in a mute sign this becomes harder work. Scorpio is Fixed (immovable, intensified) Water (our feeling world). Then add the retrograde factor in and we get images of a deafening silence, being frozen out or struggling with matters that are unfathomable. A naturally secretive Mercury clams up completely or starts doing things behind our backs. Or you'll find out something that contradicts what you previously believed to be true.

THE CURRENT QUALITY OF TIME
Image: LibraThere is a Full Moon, right on October 1, with the Aries Moon exactly conjunct Chiron. The suffering of the weak and powerless now becomes obvious. The call for an end to the hard times is growing louder and more impatient. This month, however, there is little hope of relief, on the contrary. On October 3, the Moon is in tension with Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto, before reaching Mars and Lilith. At the same time, Pluto ends its retrograde phase. There could be power struggles during this period, especially around October 9, when Mars forms a square to Pluto. Some people might now try to force things ruthlessly at their will. Do not put up with everything, but beware of adding fuel to the fire.

In the following days, the Sun in Libra forms squares to Jupiter (on October 11), Pluto (15) and Saturn (18). The New Moon of October 16 and Mars in Aries are also involved in this powerful tension. It is a critical time with very little room for manoeuvre, but this is precisely what could lead to courageous decisions being taken, which are risky but at least take us a step further. In these days, we should take a line from the I Ching to heart: "The best way to fight evil is to make energetic progress in the good". (Hexagram 43, after Richard Wilhelm)

Image: ScorpioDuring the last third of the month, there could actually be some progress. Venus in Virgo forms an opposition to Neptune on October 18, and Mars squares Jupiter a day later. Retrograde Mercury (since October 14) is in opposition to Uranus. The state of facts will be even more unclear than before, but for once those who are seriously working on the solution of the manifold problems will have an upswing. On October 23, the Sun enters Scorpio, Mercury and Venus enter Libra on October 28, and finally, on October 31, there is a second Full Moon this month, with the Ta**us Moon in close conjunction with the rebel Uranus. So, the last week of October will bring a clear shift in the quality of time, and surprising developments may be expected.

THE PERSONAL QUALITY OF TIME
Astrology follows the law of resonance: the great cosmic movements resonate with each person in an individual way. The points of resonance correspond to the planetary positions in the birth chart. In a way, we are all individual "instruments" in the "great orchestra of humanity", and we all play our own "melody". Even if the whole orchestra follows a rather dramatic tune at the moment, it is still the individual melody that shapes our own lives.

The first half of August brings a tense and restless time. The proud Leo Sun forms a square to Uranus on August 2. Venus and the Moon's Node in Gemini are exactly at the midpoint of this square. In addition, on August 3, at Full Moon, Mercury makes an opposition to Saturn in Capricorn and Mars forms a square with Jupiter in Capricorn. It takes a lot of strength to bear this tension. Where impatience and frustration have become too great, eruptive discharges can be expected. For courageous and creative people, however, it can be a very productive time in which inner and outer limitations can be overcome. Be aware that you may encounter obstacles, as this time is still under the influence of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction. Communicate clearly and distinctly when you extend or cross boundaries. You may otherwise face strong resistance.

The Moon continues to transit helpful, intelligent Virgo for most of the day, entering gracious Libra at 9:54 PM EDT. We're more focused on the details of our lives than the larger goals with a Virgo Moon. This gives us the chance to manage essential tasks that help fortify and support our endeavors. The Moon in Virgo is particular and craves some semblance of order. The Libra Moon does too, but instead of seeking order through attention to detail, Libra looks for balance through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in its environment.

That was today's forecast from Cafe Astrology and I for one had a most pleasant afternoon with a gracious Libran, discussing some minor details of our lives.

This week we have a New Moon in Cancer opposite a retrograde Saturn in Capricorn; New Moons are all about new beginnings and so could this signify a new start against the restrictions of Saturn and Covid 19 as there is positive news of a new Vaccine?
Retrograde means revisiting and Saturn will be going backwards in Capricorn, the intrepid Mountain Goat, until the 10th of October so I feel it's unlikely that we can let down barriers just yet. Saturn takes time and teaches us lessons..."Old Father Time" on one level is doing his best to keep us safe.

Phew, at last Mercury has turned forward and emerged from being a trickster, when messages are confused and apt to mislead to Mercury the Magician; I for one have been faffing about, unsure of decisions and making ridiculous u turns.
Now Mercury can work his magic for when planets switch direction, so do we and unfolding events are now packed with info about the start of new cycles.
Expect miracles. information comes to light, secrets are revealed or feelings are declared - you'll have the chance to see things as they really are.

Sunday's Lunar Eclipse

A penumbral lunar eclipse, when the moon moves into the earth’s shadow, will be taking place this weekend.

This happens when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are imperfectly aligned.

The eclipse will be visible across the Americas, south-west Europe, and Africa.

It will last for two hours and 45 minutes, according to Nasa.

In the United Kingdom, the eclipse will start in the early hours of Sunday morning, at approximately 04:07am.

It will last for 38 minutes, finishing at 04:45am.

The maximum eclipse – the point at which the eclipse reaches its greatest magnitude – will unfortunately not be visible from the UK’s capital as the moon will be under the horizon.

"The month of July is characterized by the will to set things in motion. Mars in Aries (since June 28) calls for concrete action, and the conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto (on June 30) creates a sense of urgency. The goals, however, are far from clear
The month begins with a square of the Sun and Mercury with Chiron on July 1. One day later, retrograde Saturn enters Capricorn once again before finally changing to Aquarius on December 17. Issues of power, authority and stability will continue to occupy us strongly. There is a great desire for emotional security and inner peace, especially at the time of the Full Moon on July 5, which takes place on the Cancer-Capricorn axis. It is also connected with another lunar eclipse, the last of this eclipse season. How much vitality are we prepared to sacrifice for the feeling of security? How much sense of belonging do we need to feel safe and how much of it are we willing to give to others? It is advisable to communicate carefully and consciously during these days. Warning if you are Pisces or have Pisces anywhere important in your chart, like on the ascendant or aspecting your Sun as tomorrow Neptune turns retrograde in Pisces and will be there for some time as Neptune is a slow moving outer Planet.

Neptune rules Pisces and is all about illusion and alcohol, going backwards in his own sign watch out for drowning your fears as a backward travelling Neptune can tip us into imaginings of a fearful kind.

Help is on hand though as Venus turns direct which could bring a big dose of self love.

Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised with Mercury being retrograde but Today I feel like moving back to the 19th Century or better still ancient Egypt.
I am confounded by messages and technology at every turn. Unable to join a zoom yoga Class that I had done last week and a text from my new Mobile phone provider that I had just started with that I had reached my Cap level!
