Hey FB fam….I’ve got a confession; I’ve been keeping a secret. 😬😬

I don’t talk a lot about it but I’ve struggled with healing my adrenal since 2017 and now recently we added the thyroid (hypothyroidism) to the list. Oh let’s not forget the reproductive hormone imbalance 😩…

Sooo I was ready for the white flag and in despair I reached out to my trusted OB/GYN Dr (now retired) and friend for help!

I told her that I was in afternoon tired, bloated, gas that started to include mucus, weight JUST wouldn’t come off, couldn’t concentrate and brain was just foggy! I was able to see a pattern with my menstrual cycle too. I was also concerned that I might be getting Hashimoto’s (instead it was just at hypothyroidism still)….after a series of conversation and sharing my lab results from my other amazing Dr, she asked if I would be willing to try some of the Yoli products she has been using for years and even during her health problems and has seen their potential.

After many different things over the years I was skeptic but I tried it because she’s never steered me wrong in the past. We ordered the “Life Kit” in October and just recently I unintentionally ran out of my main 2 products. After 2 weeks plus UPS losing my shipment she once again saved me and brought me some product until my stuff came. 🥰😍 2 days back on track and I AM SOLD! I’m no longer a skeptic. This stuff DOES work!!!!
My gas was not only gone but the other nasty stuff and bloat was gone! I even had nice regular BM’s (that was getting off kilter when I accidentally ran out!) I ACTUALLY had a normal menstrual cycle right before I ran out! The very next cycle off Yoli was back to the old messed up ways. The energy is up enough to add HOTWORX to the regimen! I’m not seeing major movement on the lying scale but I am in my strength, photos and toning!

I’m in NO WAY perfect and I’ve got a lot more on this journey to share but I’m telling you I’m sold now. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!! Thanks for still being the best Rose Goodding Robinson!!! 🥰 Shay Calvert

So I’m not sure that these photos really show the progress that I have gotten in the last 3 mos from going to and trying a carb cycling plan supplementing with some products to help my body become a balance PH fat burning machine! It’s been a rough ride trying to balance work-life stress and the female hormones. Plus try to heal the adrenals only to recently add in the thyroid to the mix! I feel like things might just be heading in the right direction finally though!! 🙌🏻💪🏼

I said 10 years ago that I was going to be a personal trainer. I can remember it like it was just yesterday too….living in Detroit and telling a PT there at a gym I just joined during my free session. She told me it was totally possible, I already knew a lot! Well my CPT exam was passed in Oct 2020 and the excuses allowed me to live small….until now! I applied in December and officially signed papers this week to become a Trainer at the YMCA! Keep an eye out for more information!!

My tracking isn’t as consistent as I hoped thanks to the Midwest winter but I can’t wait to see what this looks like at ...

Walking often gets a bad wrap because it often doesn’t seem like a workout! But don’t be fooled…walking is actually better for your body than running!!! 30 mins 5x a week at a brisk pace is best!
I’m a recovering workout addict that used to think of you weren’t sweating bullets then what’s the point….this is TOTALLY NOT true!! Often times you’re doing the opposite of what you want to achieve by overworking your body! Many folks don’t recognize or consider “Over Training”. More is often times not better!

So a year ago this month (next Wednesday) I got my personal training certification……and I’ve done NOTHING with it yet 😬😬

I HATE to sell myself!! I hate selling anything really. (I’ve tried enough ventures (failed ones) to know this)

I’m getting out there and selling myself….
💪🏼 I’ve been NASM Certified Personal Trainer since October 2020.

💪🏼 I’ve been struggling to balance and heal (and under supervision for) adrenal fatigue and estrogen dominance. I am VERY connected to how hormones affect the woman’s ability to lose weight!

💪🏼 I have a membership at Ultimate Fitness and a day pass is $5 if you would like to meet there or have a membership. Otherwise if you have some equipment we can do “Zoom” sessions!

I can’t currently advise you nutriton wise but can give you some suggestions. I will be working on being certified in that soon as well.
The BEST way to stay healthy and beat any of the upcoming fall/winter virus’ is to exercise and eat well!! Let’s do this!! 💪🏼💪🏼

Well It's been a hot minute since we've chatted...lots has happened even during this pandemic BUT it's time to get back in gear and go back to the basics!

I've tried many different meal plans over the years and none of them were as sustainable as the 21 Day Fix one. I didn't really feel like I was going without but just turning my focus more on portion sizes! SO here we go!! I'm off to the grocery store to get food for the 21 Day Fix meal plan and get started!!

If you're like me and would like to give it a go let me know! I've just created a starter packet and would love to not only add some accountability for you (and lets face it me too) but to share it with you as well!! I'm also looking for some clients to create a portfolio and gain experience with in Personal Training so if you're interested let me know as well!!! I'll give you a great introductory deal!!!

Since studying for my personal trainer exam too most of my extra time and attention over the last year; it's time to get back to focusing on MY health and sharing my journey with you all!!!

I aspire to be transparent in my journey so that I can inspire many of you to be the healthiest and happiest you that you can be!! The road to health isn't always a fun or easy journey! I know it's not for me!!! Where it's true I do love the gym (big part of why I became a personal trainer) it's not a love for everyone and it doesn't always make you healthy either!!

So. Here's my quickest recap of my journey thus far.....
In 2016-2017 I was having issues with my periods, like major issues, that also affected various other issues in the body....like hair loss, weight gain, libdo loss, muscle strength and more. l found an amazing doctor. He did full up blood tests, urine and saliva tests (hormones). What we found out....I had moderate levels of adrenal fatigue. He prescribed me some (over the counter) hormonal supplements and we started quarterly checkups.....then he retired and I was out of medical support. 😭

From 2017 to 2020; I had started gaining my hair back the libido was returning back to normal but yet the weight still wasn't coming off. I wasn't gaining so quickly but I wasn't losing really either. I tried a few different programs, kept sweating it out at the gym or at Orange Theory Fitness but nothing was really working.

In 2018 I quit teaching my group fitness classes after hurting my ankle and knee bowling. 😣 (Still can't find the energy or drive to get back into it) I had to start and stop working out to let this heal or bring down the inflammation when it was angry. I worked with my good friend who's an awesome personal trainer to keep working out while it healed. Yet the fat wasn't really going anywhere.

In 2019 I went to a new OB/GYN in hopes to get the balancing hormone journey back on track. Against my better judgement I followed his directions and stopped my supplements to get blood tests done again and see where they are. Enter increased fatigue and weight gain!! Oh and then COVID-19 hit. 😩

In July 2020 I finally went back to the amazing doctor in his new office and we did the saliva tests and used the blood tests the previous doctor ordered (to which he didn't order all that he should have even). I'm still in the moderate advance stages of adrenal fatigue and I'm still imbalanced with my hormones. I went BACK on the supplements he prescribed in 2017 along with one new one and since he also discovered that my body had become insulin resistant we had to change our diet drastically. Enter in The South Beach Diet.....My husband followed the original book for the 1st 14 days and then went into the new Keto version after that. He's had amazing results and I'm SO proud!!! I've definitely seen some changes.....the belly fat is melting away, my knees don't hurt like they were, the brain fog is lifting (some days better than others, just like my energy levels).

The Dr. also put me on a HR limit of 130 bpm because all my over exercising was actually hurting my adrenals!!!! 😲🙄😩 This was like a gut punch!! So I threw a baby fit internally and didn't do a single bit of exercise until October. After all if I can't get a good sweat what's the point, right?? WRONG!!!! I'm still only making it into the gym 1x a week for a good hour long cardio under the 130 bpm but its helping. So I started the South Beach Diet at 234 lbs on Sep 14th and as of yesterday I was 222 lbs (per our home scale). Below is a photo is from the machine at my gym that figures the Net Weight, BMI and Body Fat % that I use every week after my workouts.

So that's it.....keep checking back for updates on my journey and when I'm officially ready for clients!!!

Yup! That's right!! I'm now able to train 1:1 you guys!! Keep an eye out for where I'll be working out of officially and if you want more information let me know! You'll be on my list once I get it all finalized!!
