November is recognized as National Diabetes Month, and at Imagine the Possibilities, we would like to bring awareness to those living with diabetes and add some common facts about the disease.
🔹Diabetes occurs when the body doesn't produce enough insulin or cannot use the insulin it produces.
🔹About 38 million American adults have diabetes.
🔹90-95% of all diabetes diagnoses are type 2.
🔹A healthy diet, regular exercise, and avoidance of tobacco products can help lower your risk of the disease.

World Heart Day
September 29th is globally recognized as World Heart Day! World Heart Day gives an opportunity for the World Health Organization and its Member States to globally raise awareness about heart health and preventing cardiovascular disease. Additionally, the World Health Organization provides educational awareness on the management and detection of cardiovascular disease. Here are suggestions to reduce risk factors:
💙 Eliminate use of tobacco products
💙 Reduce daily salt and sodium intake
💙 Reduce daily trans-fatty acid intake
💙 Engage in daily physical activity
