Your footage of Cook County State’s Attorney Kimberly Foxx’s statements yesterday was excerpted from her keynote address at the Chicago Cannabis Health Initiative’s Chicago Cannabis Health and Wellness Fair.

It was the only event of its kind held in Chicago yesterday on 4/20. A community event, produced by people of color, that included cannabis information to promote physical, mental and financial wellness, NONE of which was mentioned in your coverage.

Your piece was completely biased. You did not print or share the correct title of the event OR its organizers. You did not include a shot of our banner, as you did for the Northside event. You did not include any interviews from our hundreds of attendees, as you did for the Northside event. ABC’s 4/20 story illustrates EXACTLY why organizations like Chicago NORML exist. The SAME canna topics being covered differently by the SAME news outlet on different sides of town!

We see this as a blatant slight and an opportunity for a larger story focused on Chicago NORML‘s and ’s work and WHY it matters.
