Montebello location closed Thursdays. They spend lots of time telling you what to eat. But nobody gets fat because they didn’t eat something. People get fat because they eat too much. Telling you what to eat might sell a lot of shakes, bars, and frozen meals, but the real way to get thin and stay thin is to learn how not to eat when you don’t need to. That is the core of the Penn Program. It may sound simple, but we all eat for a lot of reasons besides needing food for energy. We eat when we’re bored, nervous, stressed, happy, sad, or with friends and family who are eating or because it’s “time to eat.” And that’s how we end up gaining weight—because we’re eating all the time, not just when we’re hungry. The Penn Program was created by a doctor. It is different from other diets, because it teaches you to eat only when you are hungry. The Penn Program will help you understand the difference between true hunger and what we call non-hunger eating. When you learn how to avoid non-hunger eating, you will lose weight.
