Sussex County CLEAR Program

Sussex County CLEAR Program The Sussex County C.L.E.A.R. Program offers free recovery coaching, improved access to treatment, and family support for people with addiction.

Community Law Enforcement Addiction Recovery

Bridging the gap between addiction and recovery, law enforcement and the recovery community, The Sussex County C.L.E.A.R. Program offers community members seeking help for substance use disorder the opportunity to walk into a participating police department to start their journey to recovery by getting paired with a trained Recovery Coach. Our mission is to form a collaborative network of professionals in our community who will facilitate medical intervention, improved access to treatment and recovery support for those struggling with drug addiction who seek assistance, without fear of arrest or prosecution, in order to make a positive difference in the quality of life for individuals, families and our entire community. The Sussex County CLEAR Program is managed by the Center for Prevention & Counseling, Inc.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an American civil rights activist who advocated on behalf of racial equality, working classes, and the oppressed around the world. Dr. King inspired communities to take nonviolent action, to come together and progress the civil rights movement forward.

MLK Day is not only a time to reflect, but a National Day of Service, when thousands come together to give back. Today, we honor Dr. King’s legacy by taking action and serving our communities to create meaningful change.

Stigma remains one of the greatest barriers to individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders.

Breaking the stigma starts by spreading awareness that treatment works, and recovery is possible.

Treatment not only improves health but also transforms lives by helping individuals strengthen relationships and achieve their goals.

On National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we want to recognize the vital role Sussex County law enforcement plays in connecting individuals and families to hope and support.

Through the Sussex County C.L.E.A.R. program and Operation Helping Hand, law enforcement partners work hand in hand with community providers to share information about recovery services and meet people where they are.

Since its start in 2015, their involvement has helped link individuals affected by substance use to the Center for Prevention & Counseling for peer recovery coaching, treatment options, Narcan and harm reduction resources, and family support.

We’re grateful for those who go above and beyond—choosing compassion and collaboration to strengthen recovery pathways in our community.

We’re grateful to our C.L.E.A.R. program partners; Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center, Newton Police (NJ), the County of Sussex, Sussex County Police Chiefs Association, the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office, Town of Newton, and The Center for Prevention & Counseling .
