A few years ago I had the amazing Leela DeLieto come stay and to do a photoshoot. We had an epic adventure doing this shoot and there was no specific purpose for it other than wanting these fun, playful parts of me expressed in some form.

And now, the time has come… the purpose has arrived. My insides are matching my outside reality. The birth of something that has been in me for a very long time… W.E. Saloon. I won't go as far as saying this means I have been constipated for years but the pic felt inappropriately appropriate.

W.E. Saloon has been a concept I’ve had for a very long time because of the desire to have a way to experience connection, creativity and play in an environment that was also health oriented. A place where tonics, tinctures, elixirs, herbal teas and kombucha took the place of alcohol but were just as fun. I wanted a place that felt like Burning Man in open natured connectivity.

As an introvert myself, I value experiences with people that bypass small talk all together. I want the kind of conversations that have me either laughing in playfulness or have me think in ways that bring me into interesting pockets of my mind. I don’t want the mundane.

I spent years teaching about connection and that’s at the root of who I am and what I serve. The door way in is something I STILL struggle with in regular social environments. I like to just go right into the fun places to play with people but it’s just not how things are generally.

So how do I create what I want? Games. Always finding the right game. I play my whole life as a game actually. What is the next move? How do I learn from this last move? What is the thing that will grow me the most? How do I want life to be expressing through me now? What patterns am I still playing into? What do I need to do to play in a different way?

The power of play can’t be underestimated. To orient towards play and being the player in your life is the most powerful choice I’ve ever made. And other kinds of play, stilly game play, the things that bring us out of the seriousness of the mind and life.

So here we are. Finally the fruition of this photoshoot. You all get to see me hanging on an outhouse toilet, just because… why not?

I’ll link the website and were to follow in the comments and it’s worth the gander to see what it’s all about… Feels like home to me in the best way! There is so much more I could say about all of this but I'll just keep letting it all unfurl. Thanks friends for reading and for your love and support. I have the best people in my world near and far and I'm so grateful for that!

For those of you that live near me, come to the launch of W.E. Saloon in Partnership with The Painted Pig in Carbondale for an extraordinary Valentines day feast with so many fun details planned to create some serious magic

Build Your Life, Community and Business from Rich Inner Soil [Soul]

I want to know what your soil consists of. What is the dirt we are growing in? What is the clay beneath this building? Is this foundation upon which everything grows and stands, worth what we have on top of it? If not, what will happen? I don’t care if the building will stay standing or the food will grow. I want to know that it’s the best quality food and the most sturdy structure around. Not only because it’s important for health and safety but because it’s a fine craft to build and grow that way. It’s pleasurable to eat from such nourishing gardens and stand in structures built with attention to the finest details starting with the dirt.

That is what I do and live for.

How can our relationships, our businesses, our bodies, our communities, our crafts grow and be built from this rich terrain. What are the fruits that come from that? This is something that so easily and habitually gets bypassed in the world of getting by and getting done. Who will we be if we slow down to do the real work? The work of the soil/soul. The only thing that matters at the end of the day in my opinion is, did we do it well? From our core well. From who we can become if we do it that well. From what gets actualized in what otherwise might be existing only in the realm of potentials and possibilities. Can we have such exquisite care that we tend to the nutrients of our relationships so much so that something happens that few people get to experience in their lifetime. The kind of intimacy that rocks your world in its beauty. Can our business’s grow from this foundation so much so that it truly changes the world.
