Knowing something that I’ve created is helping people fills me heart with happy. Everything I’ve done to help manage and reverse my own PCOS is within this 6 week program. It’s completely at your own pace and there are options for coaching calls throughout.

Your microbiome consists of trillions of microbes. These tiny workers have a lot of responsibilities and affect every cell in your body in one way or another.⁣

Your microbiome helps you metabolize nutrients, protects you against dangerous bacteria, helps regulate your brain's serotonin (and other hormones), and helps control your weight!⁣ If you have an overgrowth of some of the unhealthy or “bad” bacteria, one of the first things you might notice is bloating and/or gas.

Here are some ways you can support your gut bugs and reduce bloating:
— cut out sugar/carbs
— reduce your stress
— get outside/play in the dirt
— exercise/move your bod
— include pre+probiotic foods in your diet

The bacteria found in fermented foods (kimchi, sauerkraut, kefir) help promote better digestion and can reduce bloating, gas, etc. And, incorporating anti-inflammatory foods (blueberries/dark fruits, high-quality protein like salmon) promotes the growth of good bacteria in your gut.

Unless you’re one of those “iron stomach” types — there are some foods that are tougher for people to digest. So, do some trial and error and try to limit foods that you notice you’re having some trouble with. For example, vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and brussel sprouts can lead to bloating and/or water retention as they ferment in the digestive tract. So if you’re eating broccoli with every meal (like I used to) take it down a notch and notice if you experience a reduction in symptoms. Awareness is everything.⠀⠀

ARE YOU IN THE ANXIETY GAP?

We are in a constant state of non-conscious processing. As humans, our guiding principle is to minimize harm and maximize reward. However, anxiety can result when our perceived capacity is exceeded.

BUT— perceived limitations may not be representative of reality. What I am capable of vs. What is being asked of me = the “anxiety gap”.

Self-regulation when you’re in the anxiety gap can be done using CBT! I love using this tool with athlete’s and am going to be running an hour long seminar on how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help athlete’s interrupt their negative thought patterns and help them reach peak performance.
