Feet are truly amazing things!
They carry us to every destination we desire & with thousands of delicate nerve endings on their soles, they provide us with sensory feedback & always support us, regardless of our weight.
It's essential to show them the love & care they deserve! Here are some wonderful ways to ensure your feet remain happy and cherished.
🦶Treat them to wonderfully supportive, comfortable footwear. Shoes should fit well with room for the toes to wiggle a little, but not so big that you need to grip your shoes to stop them falling off! You may find shoes with half sizes that fit better or a wider fitting.
🦶Wear lower heels at home & when you can. It’s best to have a few pairs to wear in different circumstances. If you wear high heels for work you could change to lower heels at other times and when you’re home.
🦶Treat them to a home spa! Soak them in a bowl of warm water with some epsom salts, essential oils or gentle bubbles. This is especially lovely to do after a days shopping or at the end of a busy day. Dry with a fluffy towel & smoothly massage in a luxurious moisturiser.
🦶Give yourself a mini pedicure. Keep your toenails short (but not too short) as pressure of longer nails against shoes can cause damage & bruising to the nails. Always cut the nails straight & not down the sides to prevent ingrowing toenails. See a foot health practitioner if you have any concerns.
🦶Moisturise regularly making your feet part of your daily routine. It can be a relaxing end of the day treat to keep the skin on your feet soft & supple.
🦶Put your feet up! After a long tiring day sit with your feet propped up on the sofa with a cushion for 15/20 minutes This will help your lymph drain better & also help the blood flow back towards the heart.
🦶Wear bare feet whenever possible to give the feet a chance to breath, stretch & it has been shown to help increase antioxidants, reduce inflammation & improve sleep.
🦶Get your partner to give you a gentle foot massage with some foot or body lotion. This is such a relaxing experience that you might wish to make it a regular treat! :)
