🙋‍♂️ It’s International Men’s Day.

Join PocDoc as we bring awareness to the preventable health crisis affecting men across the UK.

🙇‍♂️ Around 133,000 men in the UK die prematurely every year, according to the “The Real Face of Men’s Health” report by the Institute of Men’s Health.

🔗 This is linked to men engaging in behaviours that put them at a higher risk of disease, such as high alcohol consumption, poor diet and physical inactivity.

Men are also more likely to delay their doctor’s visit or only go when it is urgent. ➡️ These behaviours increase their risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

🩺 So, this International Men's Day, we encourage men to take the necessary steps to take charge of their own health.

Getting an accurate assessment of your current heart health to know your cardiovascular risk levels is a step in the right direction.

🫀October is National Cholesterol Month !

👉 As we highlight the importance of knowing your cholesterol levels this month, it is important to know what cholesterol actually is.

🟣 Cholesterol is a naturally occurring fatty substance produced by your liver

🟣 Your body needs cholesterol to carry out certain functions, such as maintaining healthy cells and producing hormones. However, too much cholesterol can lead to a higher risk of a heart attack or stroke.

🟣 To combat this, it is important to know your cholesterol levels through regular screenings.

We had a fantastic time sharing information on our company and product - The Healthy Heart Check, as well as the importance of regular health screenings in disease prevention.
