Judy could use your help....

This is Judy Copenhaver married to Dave Copenhaver. She has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. This may be news to some.... but over 8 years ago she was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease). In the past two years her health has declined tremendously. She has been in ICU multiple times, she is retaining fluid, her kidney functions are declining and most recently they have found that she has severe portal hypertensive gastropathy.
After many hospitalizations, blood transfusions, tons of procedures, interviews by the Johns Hopkins Transplant Team, she has been activated on the living donor transplant waiting list at John's Hopkins Medical Center. Without a living donor liver transplant her health will continue to deteriorate. Then, a deceased liver would be needed. Unfortunately, this means that Judy would be very very sick at that point.
We are hoping to find a living donor now, so that she can get back to living her life as she once did.

Unfortunately, neither my brother or myself are possible donors.

If you are interested in becoming a potential donor please contact the Johns Hopkins living donor number below.

The number is 410-614-2989. Simply say you are interested in becoming a living donor for Judith Copenhaver.

Potential Donors:
To be eligible, the donor must be a healthy adult between ages 18 and 55 who has the desire to save a life.

In addition, the patient’s blood type must be the same as or compatible with the donor.

Judy's blood type is A-. The donor could be A or O. Negative/positives do not matter.

The first step is matching blood types. If blood types match then there will be further tests scheduled, along with interviews by the Johns Hopkins Transplant Team.

We are well aware that being a donor is a huge commitment and it's not for everyone, but if it is something you would consider my family would be forever grateful. If donating is not an option prayers are always appreciated! Thank you for helping spread this message to those near and far. We believe social media is a huge platform and we hope to find the perfect match soon!

If you should have any questions please pm me. If you would like to send positive messages of encouragement in the comment section that would be appreciated too!

-Dave, Anne, & David Jr.
