Talking about mental health in public isn’t just important—it’s life-saving.
When we speak up, we:
✔️ Break the stigma
✔️ Teach our communities what to look for
✔️ Connect people to resources they may not know exist
✔️ Create a safe space for healing conversations
💚 At OTG, we believe that mental health conversations don’t belong behind closed doors—they belong everywhere.

Greetings Onyx Therapy Group Community!

It’s Ezra back on a Wednesday with more music for your mental health!

Have any of you heard of ?!

Freddie Gibbs has been open in his music and interviews about the struggles he’s faced, and mental health is a thread that runs through a lot of his story.

He often raps about growing up in Gary, Indiana, a city hit hard by violence and poverty. That background of constant survival pressure coupled with paranoia, loss and pain shows how trauma and stress shaped his worldview.

Do we have any Freddie Gibbs fans out there?!

Soooo… Hot take Incoming: Wellness isn’t what Instagram tells you. 👀
It’s not about green juices and $200 yoga mats—it’s about the real, sometimes messy, always necessary work of taking care of yourself.
Swipe for 6 unpopular opinions about wellness that might just change the way you see self-care. 💚

Hey Onyx Therapy Group Fam!

It’s Ezra with another Mental Health Music Monday post!

Umi Says’ bass line throughout the song, matched with the jazzy drums and electric keys, gives a funky tune for Mos Def to express himself.

Mos Def was one of the many rappers in the 90s that discussed political topics, but one of the few that discussed them to such a degree.

This song touches on Black liberation…it’s a rally cry towards equality..and we need that more than anything these days.

It’s also an ode to all the mothers..sages..big mommas..aunties..and all those in between.
We honor you.

Do y’all have a favorite Mos Def song?

✏️ Hey… can we check in for a second?
Back-to-school season is here, and while everyone’s talking about lesson plans, supplies, and schedules… nobody’s asking how YOU are doing.
💚 Whether you’re a parent holding it all together, a teacher pouring into your students, or a student stepping into the unknown—you deserve space for your own emotions, too.
This season, let’s:
✨ Protect our peace
✨ Set boundaries without guilt
✨ Remember that our mental health matters just as much as the to-do list
You’re not alone in this. We see you, and OTG is here to walk through it with you.
📌 Save this post for the days when you need the reminder.

Hello OTG family!!

It’s Ezra -
Back at it again with a new Mental Health Monday music post🙌🏾

This week we have Frank Ocean’s “Siegfried”..
And it has been on repeat these past couple of days!

The rawness of the song evokes plenty of different emotions for me and for good reason! The song’s deeply personal lyrics matches with an extremely unique beat that makes for an exceptional song.

I mean leave it up to Frank Ocean to get us in our feelings right?!

The song explores identity, self-doubt, and the struggle to reconcile personal desires with societal expectations, WHILE being in a relationship.

Do we have any Ocean lovers in the community? Drop your favorites in the comments💚
