I hope y’all are staying cool this week!

It’s Ezra, back with another Music and Mental Health Monday review!

Today, we’re looking at Father Time by Kendrick Lamar. Father Time is the 6th song from Kendrick’s 2022 album, Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.

This album came after a 5 year disappearance.
Since the album, Kendrick has been far from gone; he released a new album in November of last year,
2 world tours, and his infamous beef with Drake last spring.

Have you guys listened to this album?

I would love to know what your thoughts are!

“Just tell me what to do!”
Ever felt that in a therapy session? You’re not alone. 🖤
But here’s the truth: Your therapist not giving you direct advice isn’t a flaw—it’s a strategy. 💭
Because true healing doesn’t come from being told what to do…
It comes from learning how to trust yourself again.
In therapy, we help you:
✨ Build confidence in your own voice
✨ Strengthen decision-making skills
✨ Learn how to process, not just react
This isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about sustainable growth.
And that growth? It’s yours to claim. 💚
📲 Curious what that could look like for you? Book a session with OTG.

Kicking off a new series, we’d like to call
Mental Health Music Mondays!

Each Monday, we will share a piece of music or art that links to mental health!

My name is Ezra and I’m the newest addition to the Onyx Therapy Group social media team! I am a rising junior in high school and born and raised in Prince George’s county and spent most of my school years in Prince George’s before moving to Montgomery county to finish high school!

I love music and I’m excited to bring these posts to everyone!

This week, I’m sharing Tyler, The Creator’s 8th Studio Album named Chromakopia. Chromakopia reaches a very personal side of Tyler, The Creator, a side that we rarely see from him.

Throughout the album, songs like Noid and Like Him discuss 2 topics that he has previously mentioned before in his discography, his privacy and his relationship with his father. The lead single Noid describes Tyler’s current state of paranoia(hence the title “Noid”) due to the constant invasion of his privacy. Like him is a direct message to Tyler’s mother and the resemblance Tyler bears to his father.

Do we have any Tyler, The Creator fans in our OTG community?

What do you all think about his music?!

Therapy isn’t about avoiding emotions. It’s about learning how to face them—with clarity and control. 🧠✨
Through techniques like mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), therapy helps you stop running from your feelings—and start building emotional strength that lasts.
💬 Which emotion are you learning to sit with instead of suppress?
📲 Follow for tools to regulate, reflect, and grow through what you feel.

In a world that measures learning by the usual outcomes: test scores, college acceptances, and post-secondary jobs and income, something essential often gets lost: the learner. Not just their intellect, but their identity, their emotions, their experiences, and their evolving sense of who they are. Do strong curricula and well-versed teachers matter? Of course, but those elements are only part of an incredibly complex learning equation....
