Represented by Mr. Mauro A. Marzanโ€”Medical Technologist IV and Ms. Lalaine M. Maynesโ€”Medical Technologist II, the Department of Health Ilocos Center for Health Development through the Ilocos Regional Blood Center attended the 5-day Training of Trainers for the HIV and other TTI Proficiency Testing Training conducted by Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) at Tagaytay City.

This marked a significant developmental milestone for capacitating medical technologists in the region as they will be eligible enough to train them without the need of applying or securing a slot from RITM. Hence, more medical technologists within the region will be catered.

The DOH llocos Center for Health Development, through the National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP) conducted its Quarterly Institutional-Based Mobile Blood Donation at the DOH REGIONAL OFFICE 1, City of San Fernando, La Union on September 5, 2025.

A total of 22 blood units were collected from the new and regular voluntary non-remunerated blood donors.

BALAOAN, LA UNIONโ€”The DOH Ilocos Center for Health Development, through the National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP), together with the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC), provided technical assistance in conducting a Community-Based Mobile Blood Donation in the Municipality of Balaoan, La Union, on August 27, 2025.

The activity was initiated by the Local Government Unit of Balaoan (LGU-Balaoan), under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Carlo Castor U. Concepcion, through Municipal Health Officer Dr. Maria Aina Inica D. Marfii.

A total of 185 blood units were collected from both new and regular voluntary, non-remunerated blood donors of the municipality.

The llocos Center for Health Development, through the National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP), in partnership with the llocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) provided technical assistance to the Drugstores Association of the Philippines (DSAP)โ€”La Union Chapter in collaboration with Philippine Pharmacists Associationโ€”La Union Chapter in the conduct of Community-based Mobile Blood Donation last August 25 collecting 22 blood units from new and regular voluntary non-remunerated blood donors.

In celebration of the Reserve Command (RESCOM) Philippine Army's 42nd founding anniversary, Simultaneous Mobile Blood Donations were conducted last August 17.

One of the sites for MBD was at 105th Community Defense Center, 1st Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, Camp Lt Tito B Abat, Manaoag, Pangasinan. A total of 130 blood units were collected at the said venue.

This life-saving commemoration was assisted by Region 1 Medical Center and DOH Ilocos Center for Health Development.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Evangeline I. Verzosa, conducted its 3rd Quarter Community-Based Mobile Blood Donation (CMBD) on August 12, 2025. The activity was spearheaded by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Richel Ann L. Carbonell-Dorao and supported by the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) and the Department of Health โ€“ Ilocos Center for Health Development (DOH-Ilocos CHD) through the National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP).

A total of 344 blood units were collected from both new and regular voluntary blood donors. This marks a significant increase compared to the 171 blood units collected in the previous quarter.
