🌿 If they stare in public, let them.
🌿If they whisper about your child’s differences, let them.
🌿If they say “I don’t know how you do it,” let them.
🌿If they minimize your exhaustion, let them.
🌿If they choose not to invite your child, let them.
🌿If they distance themselves because they’re uncomfortable, let them.
🌿If they question your parenting decisions, let them.
🌿If they assume your child “will grow out of it,” let them.
🌿If they fail to show up when you need support most, let them.
🌿If they don’t see the miracle you get to love every day, let them.

Because their behavior doesn’t define your child’s worth or your strength as a parent.

For so many of us, this day holds two truths at once.
It’s the celebration of the baby who brought the color back into our world…
and the remembrance of the baby (or babies) who never got the chance to.

It’s joy tangled with grief.
It’s healing wrapped in heartbreak.
It’s proof that love can live in two places at once... arms that are full, and arms that will always ache.

To every parent holding their rainbow, and to every parent still waiting for theirs… you are not alone.

National Rainbow Baby Day is August 22nd.
A day that will forever carry both the love for the babies in our arms, and the ache for the ones we’ll always carry in our hearts.

For tough days ❤️‍🩹

For tough days ❤️‍🩹

If today was a tough day, can I send a few compassionate reminders your way?

This feels hard because it is hard. You never expected life to look this way, and while you love your child with every ounce of your being - it’s ALL consuming. Sometimes just that validation that you’re seen is enough to get you to the next day.

You’re seen, appreciated, and allllll those little things you do to keep the world afloat matter. Sending love to you wherever you are on this wild journey. ❤️‍🩹

Our kids deserve to be authentic and safe.
They deserve to be accommodated.

They should not be taught to accept mistreatment or ableist biases from others. Like yeah- we can’t necessarily change the harmful attitudes of everyone (I’m gonna try). But we don’t have to teach our kids that those attitudes are ok, either.

I don’t think I’m being extreme about this.
Feels reasonable to me.
