I think this is what people see. That Golden smile and the “behind wiggle” as we pass folks in busy hospital corridors. I’m just the Lady who holds the leash and that’s fine with me.

Facial expressions change … from serious to a smile. Sometimes it’s a half-smile but a smile nonetheless. As we walk further down a long, central, busy hallway there are more smiles and a giggle from a passing toddler in a stroller.

A person may stop to say hello. Oh Henry! It’s so good to see you! I’m so glad I ran into you today! Bodhi may literally melt to the floor and roll over for a belly rub. More smiles from people passing by.

The healing power of one therapy dog cannot be underestimated. Unconditional love, kindness, and compassion all rolled up into a Golden smile and silky coat bouncing down a hospital hallway. Sometimes it makes all the difference 💙
