The name "Bear Medicine" is inspired by the bear spirit traditionally welcomed by the Natives and Indigenous people of the land for guidance in times of reflection, protection, and change. The spirit of the the bear indicates that it is time for healing or that attention should be given to healing oneself or others. The bear medicine emphasizes the importance of solitude, quiet time, rest. It provides a strong grounding force. Bear Medicine consists of two naturally intuitive, comprehensively trained healers: Naief Medina-Castillo & Stefanie Catalano. Naief Medina-Castillo is a holistic lifestyle coach, personal trainer and cherokee bodywork practitioner. Naief has been coaching, teaching and living natural health for the last 8 years. Being of Dominican heritage, Naief has begun a deep exploration of the ancient healing sciences of his ancestors, the Caribbean Taino Indians. Combined with his extensive training and experience in traditional holistic medicine, Naief hopes to bridge the gap between the ancient and modern healing practices of the world. The core message of his practice is that synergy in all facets of all life is required for healing to happen.
