Dr. Kev hit the road this weekend to look for snakes, and he found the biggest northern cottonmouth he’d ever seen in person. This venomous fella was crossing the street in Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.

Ya'll know already that CPD's all about reading, and books, and literacy, and snakes, and all the good stuff. Now, you can bring your GENTLY USED children's books to the Chatham Education Foundation dropbox in our office, and they'll get distributed to kids in need. Don't bother bringing any used snakes, though, because Dr. Kev only takes pictures of them in the wild these days.

You’re welcome.

ALAS - THE EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES AT THE LIBRARY. WE'LL RESCHEDULE FOR SOME POINT IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

Ever wonder why the practice's instagram feed is full of snakes and bears? It's because Dr. Kev's a wildlife photographer. He's presenting at the Chatham Community Library tomorrow morning at 10AM about his experiences photographing our incredibly rich Haw River ecosystem. Feel free to stop by for your chance to ask "Where do you find all those snakes?"

Don't miss "Photographing the Haw" this Saturday, August 2nd at 10:00 am at the Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro. Award-winning photographer Dr. Kevin Ricker will give a presentation about the wildlife he photographs at the Haw River. This free event is sponsored by Friends of Lower Haw and co-sponsored by the Chatham Community Library.

Usually, Dr. Kev gets calls from his neighbors when they get a snake in their chicken coop. Tonight, a neighbor had a young red shouldered hawk get trapped in their chicken run. Dr. Kev managed the extraction with no local anesthesia, forceps, or dental elevators.

For years, Dr. Kev’s been teasing Dr. Alex that he’s an award-winning wildlife photographer who moonlights as a pediatric dentist. For once in his life, he was right! His photograph of a green tree frog from the little drainage pond behind .cafe.nc took first place for reptiles and amphibians in this year’s Wildlife in North Carolina magazine’s photo contest.

We’re pro-sasquatch, anti-cavity.

Howdy! We’re Dr. Alexandra Boudreau and Dr. Kevin Ricker. But to our spouses, kids, dogs, kids’ dogs, and dogs’ kids’ spouses, we’re really just Alex and Kevin. We love working with families to help keep children’s oral health in tip-top condition. We love helping people because, well, we are people. We’re Chatham County, Chapel Hill, Durham and Pittsboro people. We just happen to be board-certified pediatric dentists holding the fluoride. We accept ALL dental insurances, and we’ll be happy to file your claim for you.
