Check out February’s book of the month for families! This sweet story is about showing and sharing love with those who make our lives special. 💕
Read with your kids, then use these processing questions for deeper discussion:

1. How did Cornelia use the hearts?
2. Who would you send a heart to and what would you like to say on the heart?
3. What are some special ways to love and celebrate animals and our pets?
4. What are some other ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day other than Valentine’s cards?

Happy reading!

Parental love is one of the most powerful forces we can experience in this life. And brain science shows us why!

Children who experience consistent nurture from a caregiver during early childhood have been shown to develop bigger hippocampi in the brain. The hippocampus is responsible for much of our memory, stress management, and learning capacity.

Love and nurture not only feel good to kids, it shapes their brain for the better! If you’re a parent or caregiver who is worn down and discouraged, wondering if what you do really makes a difference…. take heart.
The love you give your children every day is strengthening their long-term well-being.

Did you know that CRC offers marriage intensives? It’s true! 💕

We have two Marriage Intensive options for couples looking to take their relationship to the next level and invest in deep relational work. We offer an offsite Retreat Intensive, now located at Camp Hideaway in Spicewood, TX! For those wanting to stay close to home, we also have our Austin Area, three day intensive.

These Relational Care Intensives are structured, focused opportunities for deeper healing. As a couple, you will find growth and freedom from the dysfunctional patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving many couples get stuck in. Within a caring, connected group, you’ll learn healthy coping skills and ways of repairing conflict.

If your marriage is in need of restoration or refreshment, a Marriage Intensive may be what you’re looking for. Find more information at the link in our bio!

Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️

As we celebrate love today and every day, remember that love and connection are a remarkable blend of biology, chemistry, and human experience, revealing just how deeply the heart and brain are intertwined. Love changes over the course of a relationship, ideally becoming more stable, dependent, and consistent as it is tested my trials and time. This is not bad; it’s on purpose.

If you’re looking for the heightened passion and excitement you once felt in your relationship, allow hope and curiosity to give you a new perspective. Maybe your brain is opening a path to a more enduring kind of love.

Happy February, the Love Month! This month we’ll be talking all about love: romantic love, self-love, parental love and more.

Did you know you have a “love hormone”? Oxytocin is the chemical that causes us to feel bonded to others. Many activities and experiences release oxytocin. When we are lacking in feeling loved, we can choose to engage in these habits to increase our own sense of connectedness and invite others into connection, too! When relationships are mutually satisfying and people seek to understand each other, love chemicals get flowing, just as God intended!

Which of these activities might you engage in more this week, to increase yours and others’ neural pathways for connection?

This week we recognize the fourth candle of Advent: love. 🕯️

Noel Cho, LPC reminds us of the deeper kind of love we experience in Jesus. A love that He displayed when He was born into our world, suffered as we suffer, died a death He did not deserve, and was resurrected by the same great power He offers us through the Holy Spirit. We pray you feel wrapped up in the warmth and glow of His love this Christmas season 💛

This week we recognize the third candle of Advent: joy! 🕯️

Our Executive Director Dawn Delaney, LPC, shares about the kind of joy we receive in a relationship with Jesus. Christ came to enter our desperate and lonely places with us when He took on the form of a baby. We can celebrate that with great joy this Christmas!

This week, we recognize the second candle of Advent: peace. 🕯️

Janai Bryan, LCSW-S, shared with us how Christ has made Himself our lasting peace. When we rest in the peace He gives, we are more able to fully live into our Authentic Spirit-led Self, the self He created us to be.

This week, meditate on the peace that surpasses your understanding and guards your mind. Identify how this peace feels in your body. Breathe in deeply, and let yourself linger in these sensations with gratitude and delight.

If you need help resting in the embodied presence of peace, connect with a CRC therapist today at relationalcare.org or by calling 512-492-6200.

This week we recognize the first candle of Advent season: hope. 🕯️ Noel Cho offers a perspective on hope that allows both the struggle and confidence in what’s to come.

If you are struggling this holiday season, know that it is possible to be filled with hope again. Meeting with a counselor who sees, hears, and understands your pain may be the first step is creating space for hope again. Processing your story with a caring, outside perspective often lifts the veil on what we cannot yet see.

One of our therapists at CRC would love to connect and begin the walk back to hope with you. Call 512-492-6200 or get more info at relationalcare.org.

This Giving Tuesday, make an impact by donating to Center for Relational Care!

Through the generosity of community grants and donations, we have been able to provide over $95,000 worth of scholarships and fee subsidies so far this year to clients who otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford the care they needed.

Help us make an even bigger impact on the overall mental and relational health of our community in 2026! Your donations help us keep our rates as low as possible and allow us to continue providing scholarships and fee subsidies to those with financial need.

Four areas to give towards:
Intensive Scholarships
Special Needs Counseling (goes towards fee subsidies for in-office counseling)
Development of Training
Operating Expenses

You can give at relationalcare.org/give to any of these causes! Thank you for your generosity and for helping CRC continue to provide quality relational, mental, and spiritual care to our clients and the community at-large.

Join us all month long to celebrate the Advent season! ✨

Advent isn’t just waiting for Christmas, it’s a time to practice living as Jesus did. It's a time to wait with anticipation, engage in brave peacemaking, resilient joy, and sacrificial love in a hurting world. We celebrate Advent by living it out through generous love and care for our neighbors as we join Jesus in bringing peace on Earth.

Our team of directors at CRC will be walking us through the five candles of Advent each week of the month.

Whether you are in a long waiting season or enjoying a harvest of blessings, we pray light and hope over you as we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. 🕯️💛

Our Story

The Center for Relational Care provides counseling services for healing and change. We serve children, families, single adults, and married couples as well as provide trauma recovery therapy, especially for those seeking EMDR Therapy. We seek to bring hope and healing to broken relationships, wounded hearts, and struggling lives. Using biblical principles and sound counseling theory, we strive to help people deepen their relationship with God and others while gaining awareness about what’s standing in their way of experiencing more joy and meaning in life. As the flagship counseling center for “Intimacy Therapy,” CRC also uses its expertise to train counselors and pastoral leaders around the world in this counseling model that helps hurting people experience God’s presence, provision, compassion, and truth. Some of our clients choose to participate in the Accelerated Relational Care (ARC) Process. This unique approach may help clients jump-start the counseling journey with 8-12 hours of counseling completed in a condensed period of time. This experience can be particularly helpful for couples and is also available for some individuals and families.
