We’re proud to celebrate the completion of our first Teen Mental Health First Aid cohort at Windover High School!
Too many teens experiencing depression, anxiety, or substance use challenges feel like they’re carrying it alone - often in silence. And with su***de now the second leading cause of death among young people, we know we must do more.
Teen Mental Health First Aid equips students with the skills to recognize warning signs, start supportive conversations, and connect a friend to trusted help. This evidence-based training empowers them to look out for one another and build a stronger peer support network within their school community.
We are incredibly grateful to the leadership team at Windover High School - Scott Hewitt, Chip Zumer, and Tonia West - for championing this important work and prioritizing student mental health. Your commitment makes opportunities like this possible.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our facilitators, Mary Laffey and Dallas Rau, whose expertise, compassion, and dedication helped bring this training to life for these students.
We are so proud of these students for stepping up, leaning in, and being willing to be part of the solution. The future is brighter because of you. 🌟
