I was diagnosed a little over 2 years ago at 38… up until that point I thought I was just an anxious mess with trauma who couldn’t get her sh*t together 💩
I personally don’t see getting a diagnosis as accumulating yet another label, I see it as an elimination of other causative factors and narrowing down where to look (Iike niching but for your mental health 😂).
For me it has been a direct way in to help me figure out how to bring my best self to the table and #livemybestlife + #getsh*tdone + better verbalise my needs and figure out ways to #stressless and be more present for those around me 🥰
It has also helped me really embrace my quirky ways and also enhance the amazingness of the things my brain DOES do well 🧠
If I could go back and tell my pre diagnosis self anything it would be, “you’re not stupid, you’ve just been ill equiped!”. If you have ADHD the way the world is laid it and runs often won’t make sense to you… and that’s ok. For me the key has been making sense of how my ADHD fits with me!

• Get a pen
• Get some paper
• Brain dumb eerrrrryyyyy thing you need to do
• Circle the stuff you need to do TODAY or you'll run into trouble
• Underline the stuff that needs to get done before you can do other things (I call these "top of the chain" tasks)
• Stick the underlined tasks on your to-do list for the rest of the week.
NEXT ➡️
The rest of the list is called your parking lot 🚙
• You can collate these tasks into categories and divvy them out into your calendar accordingly
• You can order these tasks in levels of priority
• You can order these tasks into a flow (sometimes we can't do one thing until we do a preceding step)
As my own mindset coach/mentor has said, overwhelm is a choice, and you can choose not to feel it!
Choose to simplify... because life is never as crazy as we're trying to make it (don't ask me how I know). Slow your roll, do this exercise, address your stress, and get some perspective.
