For a thumb sucking habit this appliance makes so much sense. It eliminates the intimate relationship of the thumb and the palate. It eliminates the damaging suction between the thumb and the palate. The pic features a fully 3D printed appliance designed by Jesse Inman. No laser welds or solder joints, one solid piece that will never discolor or break down. Call me to learn more please! As a side note: The Blue Grass appliance is an awesome choice for thumb sucking. Google it, it is a counter conditioning appliance, replacing a harmful habit with a non harmful habit. Immediately the patient will rather spin the roller than suck their thumb.

Ever since I started seeing printed metal appliances from Sokratis Gonidis I knew printed metal is the future. They are stronger, more accurate, smoother to the tongue and so much better looking. We do our design work in house allowing us complete control. At some point most if not all labs will quit fitting bands and only offer printed bands. The same with most metal appliances. If you have not tried a printed appliance, call me, let's talk.

Trust me, we are not stuck in the past. Sometimes older ways are still the best. This exceptional case from Dr. David Carol is a perfect example. This would have needed many, many clear trays and taken a very long time. The Inman Aligner is so much faster than clears and so much more cost effective. We are in the Clear Aligner business and have invested heavily as you can see in past posts. However in the hands of a great provider like Dr. Carol the Inman Aligner remains a great option.

This will be a little long, sorry. We are constantly researching ways we can improve our quality and our service. A perfect example of this is our recent investment into a Clear Aligner Laser Cutter. I will explain the advantages for our customers point by point and reassure our team at the same time. The trim line is produced in the digital department, it is generated in AI and adjusted by a digital technician. This eliminates trays being cut too short or left too long. We know that the biggest complaint doctors have is inconsistent work from their labs. Our process eliminates this. The Zendura material is pressed not vacuum formed on our Biostars ensuring a perfect fit. Then as the video shows the tray is verified by the software without any human interaction and the tray is laser labeled. Our old process was to laser label the trays after they were cut, this allowed for human errors. This new process makes it impossible for us to mix up trays. After the tray is laser labeled, the tray is laser cut to the predetermined trim line. Note: We used to use a mill for this process which was very good but the laser is miles ahead. Many labs trim their clears with heated knives and or scissors as we did many years ago. A good result can be achieved but the trays will vary from technician to technician. Our goal is a consistency and this system is the most consistent we have been able to find. The next step is the laser labeled tray is removed and is checked in QC, disinfected, packaged and shipped. This machine does NOT replace any team members, in fact it increases job security by helping keeping you and your patients happy. Even though we invest in technology heavily we have never done so to eliminate a single lab position. Jesse and I always provide a clean, organized and healthy work environment for our team and ourselves. Our 16.5 year old floor was in bad shape. We decided that we would give the lab a facelift using our personal funds, we think the results are going to be amazing. We hired a fantastic company that is working through the weekend so we only lose Monday for production. Here is a sneak preview of the new look.
