This week is BFRB Awareness Week (Oct 1–7) — a time to honor and support those of us living with body-focused repetitive behaviors like skin picking and hair pulling.

This year’s theme is “BFRB Brave.” Being brave can look different for each of us: showing up for yourself, deciding to seek help, joining a support group, opening up to a loved one, or even just getting curious about what your body needs.

To mark the week, we’re hosting live webinars with Lauren from the Picking Me Foundation, inspiring community stories, a Q&A with a SkinPick therapist, and Instagram Lives with Annela from HabitAware.

We’d love to know: What does being “BFRB Brave” mean to you right now?

Generational silence runs deep—but it can be broken. By opening space for honest, compassionate conversations, families can move from avoidance to support, and from stigma to healing. 💙

If you or someone you love struggles with skin picking, know this: You don’t have to stay silent. Help and hope are closer than you think.

Support doesn’t always mean having the perfect words — sometimes it’s about offering presence, kindness, and validation💜

Reminding someone they’re not alone, that their feelings are valid, and that they are more than their disorder can bring light into some of the darkest moments 🌟

Gentle, compassionate words won’t erase the struggle, but they can help someone feel seen, understood, and less alone in their journey.
