Food can affect your mood 💜🩵. Each fruit, vegetable, grain, spice and herb you eat can affect your body in a multitude of ways. Pain, headaches, and constant stomach issues are not normal and shouldn’t be treated as such. We live in a world that normalizes issues and treats symptoms. I am not a medical doctor and I cannot treat illnesses. I am able to give some solid nutrition and fitness advice. 💛✅.
In 2020, I just barely scratched the surface holistic wellness when I started using essential oils. As most new oil- users do, I went a little overboard thinking I had the time (😂) to make all of my shampoos, conditioners, and deodorant and other hygiene items from scratch - as it turns out, not only do I not have the time, I also do not have the space. BUT - nevertheless, the journey continued and I continued reading books, watching lectures and learning everything I could about wellness from natural sources. It truly is a journey. It’s not overnight that I was able to get away from synthetic fragrances, artificial food coloring and traditional over the counter medicines. It’s taken years, and it’s still happening.
Recently, as I was renewing my National Academy of Sports Medicine Certification for Personal Training, I decided to take the next step into being able to help my clients reach their goals in holistic health.
I have been a certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Behavior Change Specialist for years and I am now happy to announce that I’m now certified in Nutrition for Life from the Institute for Integrated Nutrition. This course focuses on a creating a personalized approach to nutrition and wellness, through nutrition science, food as medicine, personalized eating and cooking at home.
I plan to continue this journey into holistic health as a lifelong learner. 🩷

The best “diet” is one you can stick with. Making small changes can make a big difference. For me, the best way maintain is to have snacks throughout the day. I teach 3 classes a week and take 2 classes a week on top of my strength workouts. I am a hungry chick. I won’t be eating “just a salad”. You can bet that if I do choose to have a salad, it’s going to have ✨all the things✨ on it ; some sort of protein, usually chicken, beef or eggs or a combination, lots of texture…think cheese, crunchy veggies and nuts…then add a tangy vinaigrette of some kind. That’s my jam. I also tend to crave red meat and seafood. Steak, shrimp tuna…that’s not always feasible for me so sometimes it ends up being frozen, microwaveable Tyson Chicken, beef jerky or packs of tuna. I also take a protein shake when I haven’t gotten enough on some days. The bottom line… eat a lot of protein when you lift a lot of weights. Whole Foods, organic foods and protein are always what I try to eat the most of. What small changes have helped you stick to a plan?.
I hate the grocery store so I’ll usually go super early or late at night.

A little throwback to my Oompa Loompa days 😂. Thanks for sharing this gem and for always being such an awesome hype gal! This was a bucket list activity for me and I don’t plan to do any additional shows. The lifestyle does not personally fit my long-term goals.

Fitness isn’t just for the body. It’s for the mind. Next time you workout, try not to think about everything you have going on in your life, things you have to do, or what’s next. Think about the present moment. How do these movements feel to your body? Take a minute and connect your breath to the movement. Think about where you’re feeling the exercise and focus on it and contract the muscle being used. This is called mind to muscle connection. This will lead to a more effective workout and will provide a respite for your mind. Once you perfect the practice, this also prevents distractions.
