💡 Did you know the direction of your back exercises could change your results?

A new study followed people with chronic low back pain for 12 months. Those who practiced extension (backward-bending) exercises reported more pain relief than those who did flexion (forward-bending) exercises.

But here’s the important part — the study only looked at people with long-lasting back pain without leg symptoms. That means this isn’t a one-size-fits-all rule.

Extension may be a good place to start, but the best exercise is the one that fits your body and helps you move with less pain. Always test, adjust, and work with a clinician to find the right approach.

Neck pain can be frustrating — sometimes it feels better with hands-on care, other times exercise makes the biggest difference. 🤔
A recent study in Musculoskeletal Science & Practice compared manual therapy and exercise therapy for people with chronic neck pain.

✅ Both helped reduce pain and improve daily life
✅ Manual therapy gave quicker short-term relief
✅ Exercise worked just as well but only when people stuck with it about 95% of the time
✅ Exercise also improved neck muscle control, helping with long-term stability
