The Subjugation and Self Sacrifice Schemas often come up when you have people pleasing tendencies as both schemas result in you neglecting your needs however the reasoning behind that differs. Subjugation is out of fear of punishment or abandonment VS Self Sacrifice is out of the belief that’s it’s the right or selfless thing to do, putting others before yourself

If breathwork has not worked for you in the past, it might be due to many reason such as the technique (such as breathing from your chest rather than the diaphragm), waiting until you’re feeling 10/10 levels of anxiety so it might take more sets to help you regulate and also most importantly if breath-work simply becomes another way that you attempt to control how you feel. Breath work is a tool to help you feel more connected and safe in your body & help you come back into your prefrontal cortex, so you can think more clearly.

A good hack if you want to learn to take deeper breaths from diaphragm & not the chest, is to put your hands on your stomach and feel it expanding. I prefer to lie down when I do breathing exercises, but sitting upright works too
