WALK-IN CLINIC

From Tuesday 4th of November, Walk in clinics will be available to registered patients.

🗓 Āhea | When: Tuesdays & Thursdays
🕘Te wā | Time: 9:00am – 11:00am

• Patient numbers are capped; the clinic may close early once capacity is reached.

• All patients will be triaged by a nurse before seeing the doctor.

• Walk-In Clinic is for acute, single-issue health needs only (e.g. coughs, infections, minor illnesses).

‼️ Please book a standard appointment for:
• Long-term or ongoing conditions
• ACC or WINZ medical certificates
• Complex or multiple issues

• Clinics are subject to change on the day if the designated walk-in doctor is unavailable.”

Tēnei te maioha atu nei ki a Dr Mick Lavelle mō tō kaha tiaki i ngā whānau i roto i ngā tau toru tekau neke atu.
We respectively acknowledge and thank Dr Mick Lavelle for the care and dedication he has shared with colleagues, patients and whānau at Tarawera Medical.
Today, we formally acknowledge the retirement of Dr Lavelle and honour the service he has given to Tarawera Medical Centre and the hapori of Tūwharetoa ki Kawerau and surrounding areas.
Over more than 30 years, Dr Lavelle has embodied the principles of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and kaitiakitanga - offering care with compassion, building strong and lasting relationships, and improving the overall wellbeing of our community.
Across generations, Dr Lavelle has been a steady presence, caring for tamariki and their whānau, walking alongside our kaumātua, and guiding and supporting colleagues over the years.
As Dr. Lavelle enters this next chapter, we wish him all the very best.

PĀNUI | Fee Changes for Non-Community Services Card Holders 18+ at Tarawera Medical
From Monday, 3 March 2025, GP and Nurse Practitioner consultation fees for patients aged 18+ without a Community Services Card will increase due to rising costs.
This includes a rise in GP and Nurse Practitioner Consult fees which will now cost $29.50.
We understand this may be a difficult change for some of our whānau, and we are here to support you through these changes.
We wish to ensure you that fees for Community Services Card holders and tamariki, remain the same.

Temporary closure – Tarawera Medical.
Tarawera Medical will only be closed on Monday, March 3 until 2pm due to system upgrades occurring during this time.
We urge all patients to please avoid visiting unless urgent.
For emergencies, please call 111 or present to ED.
For non-urgent matters, please call or visit us after 2pm.
We cannot process prescriptions or documents during this time.
