Taking a moment to share my review about a new restaurant in town for my StL and MetroEast followers. Royal Palm Mediterranean Cuisine

~Mediterranean Dining at its finest in the metro east!

There are meals that satisfy hunger, and then there are sumptuous meals that bring tears to your eyes because they’re so rich in tradition and flavor.

We were warmly greeted upon entering the restaurant and because this is their soft opening weekend, we were given a generous sampler platter for an appetizer. The hummus was luxuriously smooth, kissed with lemon, and elevated by the delicate nuttiness of tahini. Equally compelling was the baba ghanouj, (always a favorite of mine) smokey and complex fire-roasted eggplant. The falafel was warm and crisp on the outside, herbaceous and tender inside. We also sampled the arayes—grilled pita stuffed with spiced meat—which was savory and full of flavor. The grape leaves were as my Turkish friend described ‘the real deal’ delicately rolled, with rice and herbs seasoned so harmoniously they danced between brightness and comfort.

The centerpiece was the Royal Mixed Grill, a platter that felt regal in both presentation and taste. The kufta kebab, lamb and beef imbued with warm spices, was fantastic. The chicken tawook was tender and succulent, with subtle spice infused in every bite. The shish kebab was our favorite, practically melting in your mouth, morsels of beef that were divine.

As if we weren’t already stuffed to the gills we couldn’t leave without dessert. The custard katayfi was nothing short of EXQUISITE: a golden nest base of shredded phyllo dough pastry, layered with silky custard, topped by a thin layer of whipped cream and a touch of sweetness that left us in absolute awe. It was textural poetry—crispy, creamy, and decadent, clearly this dessert is infused with love and pride.

It is apparent that there was no detail not thought about with the menu and the restaurant itself. The bar offers fresh smoothies and they are working on expanding the menu to eventually include a selection of fine coffee and teas.

They have a separate ho**ah lounge that when you step inside you are enveloped by warmth and fragrance. The ho**ah lounge instantly evokes the experience of being in a Mediterranean cafe with the brightly colored walls and is equipped with state of the art ventilation.

Overall Royal Palm is an absolute gem, more than a dining spot. The attention to detail, authenticity of the cuisine, the delightful staff are a cultural sanctuary—a space where hospitality meets culinary mastery.~
