AFI 6 cm during pregnancy?
First, take a deep breath. ❤️
AFI (Amniotic Fluid Index) measures the fluid around your baby.

Normal AFI usually ranges between 8–18 cm.
If your AFI is 6 cm, it is slightly on the lower side.

This condition is called mild oligohydramnios.

Does this mean something is wrong?

Not always.

Sometimes it can be due to:

• Dehydration
• Placental changes
• Crossing due date
• Small leaks
• Medical conditions like BP

Most of the time, doctors will:

✔ Monitor closely
✔ Suggest more fluids
✔ Repeat scan after few days

NT Scan – Part 2: What Your Report Really Means
Many parents panic after seeing the NT scan report.
Let’s simplify it 💙

1️⃣ NT value is NOT a diagnosis

NT scan only shows risk, not confirmation.
A higher value means further tests may be advised, not that something is wrong.

2️⃣ NT + Blood Test = Clarity

NT scan is usually combined with dual marker blood test.
Together, they give a more accurate risk assessment.

3️⃣ Normal NT doesn’t mean 100% guarantee
It means the risk is low, which is reassuring 👍

No scan can promise 100%, but this is a strong early check.

4️⃣ High NT doesn’t mean pregnancy will fail
