I don’t see enough people talking about these beauties - Sumo Citrus 😍 The best way to give yourself a vitamin C boost during winter 🍊

They’re a mandarin-orange hybrid making them sweet, less acidic and seedless. They’re also really easy to peel!

They’ve been grown locally in Aus for a while now but originate from Japan (in the 70s) where they’re known as Dekopon mandarin.

So delicious! Grab one to try next time you see one. Mine came from Harris Farm 🧡

My plate when I don’t know what to make for breakfast 😂 I have long been a ‘plate or bowl of things’ fan. So long as it’s nourishing I don’t mind what combination of ingredients go on there 😀 They’re quick to pull together too!

Odd looking poached eggs care of my instant pot 🙌🏻 I brush two small mason jars with olive oil, drop in the eggs then cook for four minutes. Just place the jars on a trivet and add one cup of water into the inner pot of the instant pot and off you go 💖

It’s been perfect pumpkin soup weather in Sydney lately and we’ve enjoyed many bowls of it 😋

This recipe does have ham in it, but if you want a vegetarian version - I swap it out for a can of cannellini beans. You still get protein and it makes the soup extra creamy too 😀

It’s truffle season in Australia 😍 These little beauties are pricey, but you can stretch your purchase and truffle season out by making things like truffle salt and truffle butter.

I get one every year as a bit of a splurge. I make the salt and butter, use some in a dinner for our wedding anniversary, and whatever is left goes into things like scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, and even popcorn 😋

You’ll find the truffle butter recipe here 👉🏻 https://wholenaturalkitchen.com/truffle-butter/

My truffle came from Ganymede this year 🫶🏻

Breakfast for three on the balcony this morning 😀

My air fryer got a workout today with all my recipe testing. The chickpeas were done in there too. Delish!

To make them:

- Drain and rinse a can of chickpeas
- Add them to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil and cover with any spices you like. I used garlic, cumin, smoked paprika and sumac.
- Air fry on 200°C/400°F for 12-15 mins or until crispy. You’ll need to shake the basket several times as they cook to make sure they roast evenly 🧡

A latte… but make it blue 💙

I bought a blend recently that contains blue spirulina, butterfly pea flower and blueberry powders combined 😍 A lovely antioxidant-rich mix that’s deliciously sweet with thanks to the blueberries.

It made a fantastic latte for a chilly afternoon and is a good swap for coffee if you’re looking to cut down. Topped here with some of my dehydrated strawberries 😋

Persimmon season is upon us in Aus. Look at that colour! 😍 I love letting them get very soft and jammy… then using them as jam 😀

I had it spread on sourdough with labneh this morning. A very quick and easy brekkie. A little sprinkle of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey if you want the extra sweetener make it extra delish too 😋

My post holiday kitchen is back in order 🙌🏻

The kimchi is in crocks fermenting, I’ve got garlic fermenting in honey, a shrub bubbling away, pickles in the fridge, and I got a stack of condiments made… including my favourite - Tahini Sauce 😍

It’s full of lemon and garlic and it’s the perfect thing to dollop on just about everything. We had it over our roast veg tonight 🫶🏻

You can find the recipe here 👉🏻 https://wholenaturalkitchen.com/tahini-sauce/

That post holiday shop is always an epic one 😅

Whilst I enjoyed every minute of our road trip I was definitely pleased to get home to my kitchen so I could cook for us again. And get recipe testing!

We were moving every few days on the road so cooking things wasn’t much of an option 😐

I’ve added a few photos here that are my favourites from the trip. They all came from a place in outback NSW called Mungo National Park. It was like walking on the surface of the moon out there! Such a special place 🧡

My husband and I are still on tour taking in all the sights along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia.

We’ve eaten some delicious things, but something I’ve found surprising is there’s a curry or three on every menu! I had no idea our Victorian friends were so enamoured of the many variations of this dish.

Happily there have been an abundance of warm salads too, which I’ve been loving - with pumpkin and beetroot dishes featuring just about everywhere too as they come into season.

Want to make a curry of your own? - give my Chickpea and Spinach Curry a go! It’s perfect winter food 🥶

I truly love how far menus at places like breweries and pubs have come. Where once it was nigh on impossible to get things that weren’t wings, burgers, and chips - we now have plates like this on offer 😀

A brown rice bowl with grilled king mushrooms, edamame beans, pickled radish, mashed avocado, pickled turmeric cauliflower, asian slaw, cucumber, crispy shallots & orange miso dressing. I enjoyed this at Last Street Brewery in Beechworth today. So good! 😍

We’re on a road trip at the moment but before leaving home I packed some frozen slices of this delicious Tahini Banana Bread to have as snacks in the car. Perfect road trip food! It certainly kept us full for many hours on the road ☺️

This is delicious as is, but is extra delicious with some extra tahini drizzled on top or even a dollop of crème fraîche 😋

You’ll find the recipe here on my website 👉🏻 https://wholenaturalkitchen.com/tahini-banana-bread-gluten-free/
